Thrifty Thursday

Things are still a bit busy around here and I haven't had the chance to pop into my fave op shops regularly like I usually do :(  I did find something a few month's ago, but couldn't share it without letting the secret out LOL  I found this pregnancy book for $1 on the same day I had my first ultrasound - perfect timing :)

Another item I haven't had a chance to blog about...A few weeks ago I had coffee with Kylie and we popped into an op shop for a quick look.  I found this side table for $5!  I've been looking for one for ages - I needed something to pop in between our recliners to put remotes / cups on and this one was perfect size and height!

Gift box & Card

Saturday night I went to a friend's house for a Stampin' Up party :)  Kylie W is also pregnant, so the theme for the night was babies!  We made this sweet baby girl card and a cute gift box / tag (using the new gift box punch board - putting that on my 'wish list').

Everyday Moments

We had our first visit to the ante-natal clinic to see the midwife - things are going very well with baby & pregnancy!  We got a 'goodie bag' while we were there :)

Indy doesn't look too impressed about his weekly bath :)

We brought our first item for baby!  Cathie found this sweet bassinet on a FB classifieds page - perfect condition :)

We are getting a lot of wildlife visiting us - how beautiful are these kookaburras?!?!

Oscar has made himself at home :)  He sits in the most awkward looking positions LOL

Christmas decorations are starting to appear in the shops!!  I couldn't resist - had to buy this sweet mason jar scene ;)

Pregnancy Week 10-14

Week 10
Due to a few reasons, my doctor has referred me to the hospital to do share care - so it looks like a combination of doctor and hospital visits to make sure all goes well with my pregnancy and baby.

Week 11
We had a scare this week - a 3am trip to the ER for some spotting.  After blood tests and an ultrasound it was confirmed that baby is fine and that spotting is normal.  We had a ultrasound to check on baby.  We were so amazed that in just 4 weeks since our first scan that it now looks like a baby!

We shared our secret with our brothers & sisters who were shocked, but very excited for us :)

Week 12
We had the 12 week ultrasound - the sonographer confirmed baby is still growing well.  They did the Nuchal Fold scan and blood test to check for Down's Syndrome, which came back no issues.

We were excited to finally be able to announce our pregnancy to friends!  I had so much fun looking for ideas and then taking photos of the fur-babies (they didn't think it was as fun though LOL).

Week 13
Due to a family history of diabetes I had the Glucose screening test earlier than usual, unfortunately the test came back slightly over the normal range so I need to have a Glucose Tolerance Test.

Week 14
I had the Glucose Tolerance Test and will find out the results when we get back from the cruise.

Pregnancy Week 6-9

Week 6
After 2 weeks of constant nausea, exhaustion (coming home from work and having a sleep) and frequently nightly trips to the loo I knew something was up and thought I was having issues with my liver / sugar levels again.  Then my boobs got really sore (TMI/?!? Sorry LOL) and that got me wondering if I could be pregnant.  After nearly a decade of unsuccessful fertility treatment I didn't have my hopes up, but wanted to rule it out before I went to the doctors for tests.  I brought some pregnancy tests and was shocked when I saw a faint line!  I promptly did a 2nd test which had an even darker line.  Craig and I were both stunned!

We went to the doctors the next day who did another test and congratulated us!  We didn't want to get excited till we had a blood test to confirm it though.

Week 7
After a sleepless / excited / nervous / impatient weekend, we finally got the blood results back on Monday afternoon which confirmed we were pregnant!!  We told my mum and Craig's parents - both mums were so shocked & excited - lots of crying and hugging :)  Tuesday I had an ultrasound to confirm baby was in the right place (not an eptopic pregnancy) - it was very surreal to see the embryo (I shed a few excited / relieved / happy tears).

Week 8 & 9
After finding out I was pregnant, I changed my eating habits to eat small meals 4-6 times a day instead of 3 meals and found that helped my nausea symptoms.   I stopped fighting my exhaustion and just started having more nanna naps.

Baby Announcement

We knew we wanted to do something cute / funny/ unusual for our baby announcement.  I had a look for ideas on Pintrest & Google and decided to do a photo shoot with our sweet fur-babies Jedi & Indy.

I printed the cute signs, popped the ultrasound into a frame and enlisted Craig's help (AKA feeding the dogs LOTS of treats) to take some photos.

Jedi's face says it all - she's so unimpressed about the baby news ROFL!

We posted the photo on FB at 12 weeks - there was lots of excitement, congratulations and well wishes from friends.

Becca's Visit

Last weekend my bestie Becca and her kids came to visit for 4 days!  There was lots of outings, activities and catching up.

We went to the markets Sunday morning to have a look, buy some fresh fruit / veges and the kids had fun decorating some plates.

Becca and the kids braved the pool everyday - too cold for me! LOL

Monday morning we did some baking - cinnamon scrolls.

Then off to the park to pat & feed all the sweet baby animals at the Old McDonald's petting zoo.  Then running off some excess energy in the playground.

Tuesday morning we headed off to another playground to enjoy the lovely warm & sunny weather.

Yummy gelato.

There was also lots of lego building, play-dough play, watching movies and snuggling :)
