Clay's New Glasses

So...our little man needed glasses :)  With my eyesight history we have been aware that Clay might have issues too, so after a visit to the optometrist for an eye exam we were referred to my opthamologist for further investigation.  Clay had seen Dr McLean for  a few check ups in his first 12 months and she's aware of my medical history.  We had to see her a number of times and Clay had to do numerous tests, but they discovered he is very short sighted and has the same prescription that I had before surgery!!  So off to the optical store to try on glasses!  We let Clay pick what colour he wanted :)  Glasses for kids have changed a LOT simce I was little!! With such a atrong prescription I was worried Clay would have super thick lenses like I did, but lens technology has changed even more and they are nice and thin / light!

When his glasses came on we took him in straight away. I took a video of him seeing clearly for the first time and it makes me cry with happiness!! The expression on his little face when he realised that he could see was one of amazement and excitement.   Both Craig and I had tears and the staff of the shop told us they were crying too.

There is no stopping him now xo

Cards

Some new dies, stamps and a snow pen motivated me to create these cards last weekend.  The elephant card is a CASE from a pinterest card.

Everyday Moments

Clay is still loving his swimming lessons.

My frangipani has flowered some more - it's gorgeous!  Just need to work out where I want to plant it.

The bush orchid has also bloomed.

Indy had his summer haircut - looks like a very fat chuahauha LOL

OTP - Mini Album

Yesterday at Simply Crafty Andrea taught us how to create a "One Page Wonder Mini Album".  They were quick and easy to create and I think once I add photos it will be a cute gift.

Layouts

Cardmaking seems to be my quick and easy craft fix lately, but I have been plodding along with scrapping :)  I finished these 3 layouts at Simply Crafty today.

Fireworks Spectacular

Tonight Nanny joined us and we headed down to Bargara to the Pacific Tug Fireworks Spectacular.  We walked around and had a look at the stalls, then set up our chairs to wait for the fireworks.  This time Clay actually stayed awake and was really excited to see them (last time he got frightened and cried). It was a lovely family night :)

Everyday Moments

Clay asked for cupcakes one day - I was surprised because we don't really eat cupcakes or cakes, but I whipped him up a batch :) Typical kid - only ate the sprinkles LOL

Clay had a visit to the optometrist to get his eyes checked.

A play at the park one afternoon.

My frangipani cutting from Kristy has flowered - isn't it gorgeous?!?

Mum brought Clay a magic egg - we put it in water and over 2 days it started to grow and hatch out the egg.  There was much excitement as we checeked it and it finally hatched out :)

Catch Up with Friends

Last night we went to Riverfeast to catch up with some old work friends.  It was a bit cool on the river, but we had a delicious meal, listened to a great musician and chatted with friends.  We all had a wonderful night and will do it again in a month or so, once it warms up a bit more :)
