Thrifty Thursday

I popped into only one op shop last Saturday.  I tried on a few dresses and a top, but only purchased these unopened alpha stickers for $3 each.  They usually retail for about $10 / packet, so I was happy with my find:)

Kayaking Adventure

This morning mum, Clay and I headed off on an adventure to check out a possible new paddling spot.  Mum used to cross the river at the original bridge when they would come into town from the farm when she was younger.  She hadn't been out at Smith's Crossing for decades, so it was nice for her to have a look around.

We checked out the river and were concerned about getting the kayaks and ourselves down to the water, but decided to give it a go.  While we waited for friends to join us, we had a look around the picnic / park area, admired all the beautiful butterflies that were fluttering around, had some morning tea and feed the catfish in the river.

The local vintage car club was out for a Sunday drive and picnic, so Clay went and had a look at all their cars :)

Some geese on the river.

Once everyone arrived, we checked out the launch area, got all the kayaks out and onto the river for a paddle!  I was a little concerned taking Clay up the deep river with me, but as usual he was awesome- just sat back out of the way of my paddle and didn't rock the kayak :)  He had a few paddles by himself  - he's very confident paddling off.  He did get stuck in the weeds, but listened to our instructions and got himself out.  Mum and I have decided to ti a rope on next time, so we can pull him back in if he gets too far away lol

After we had a few paddles each, we splashed about enjoying the cool water.

It was another wonderful adventure )  Clay and I are still working on convincing Craig to buy our own kayak ;)

Playdate

We took Lindalee and Jaxson to the park for a play date today.  It was pretty humid after the big storm that went through earlier, but the kid's still had a great time jumping in puddles, riding their scooters and playing.  The "big" kids may have had a go on the slides too ;)

Layouts

I was feeling motivated to scrap today :)  I scrapped this layout in the morning.  It's for a challenge at Scrap The Boys  - to use the poster as inspiration. I liked the bold black title.

I was still feeling motivated this afternoon, so popped back down to my scraproom and created created this layout.  I have now scrapped all our photos from our Sydney trip :)  I have one more professional cruise pic to scrap and I'm all done!

Everyday Moments

Clay went to a pool party for HIPPY at his swim school.  It was nice meeting the other parents and he loves the water park.

A new day and time for swimming lessons means Clay has a new swim instructor- she is lovely and we have seen some improvements already.

Mr cool :)

Cute plant pots Kristy brought for me :)

After so much rainy weather it was great to have a sunny day, so we headed to the playground at the beach last Saturday afternoon.

Clay's Siamese fighter fish died - he handled it really well - so we decided to buy some new goldfish.  Meet Chuck (orange one) and Eyebrows (white one) - named after characters from "Angry Birds".

Today we caught up with some old work friends for lunch - definately have to do that more often!

Dinner

Last night we went to a hotel to have dinner with Craig's work mates - to celebrate Craig and Lisa's promotions (to store manager and 2IC).  It was lovely to meet the staff members and their partners /family, catch up with everyone and the meals were delicious! I even managed to snap some family pics - woo hoo!  It was a fun night and hopefully it will become a regular thing  :)
