Lady Musgrave Island
Clay and the other 11 Reef Guardians from his school headed to Lady Musgrave Island for the day this morning-he was so excited and had been counting down the days :) We were at the marina by 6.30am and waited for all the other schools/ tourists to arrive and get checked in. It's a 2 hour trip by catamaran to the Lady Musgrave HQ Pontoon. Luckily Clay took travel meds and didn't get seasick, unfortunately the other kids did :( There was lots of activities- there is an underwater observatory, glass bottom boat, snorkelling, talks by marine biologists and a tour of the island. Clay got to see 4 different turtles and some of them were endangered. They had a very delicious morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea included. They arrived back after 5pm with a slightly sunburnt and extremely tired, but very happy boy :)

2026 Floods
Bundaberg flooded ...again. We, our family and friends are all safe and dry. I'm kind of shocked as the last 2 times we had flooding it rained for so many days to cause flooding. This time we only had 2 days of rain, but we also had a lot of water coming down from north due to rains from a tropical cyclone that was forming. Craig had been in Hervey Bay Monday night before and wasn't sure he would be able to travel back, but managed to make it through. That afternoon all schools sent out a notice to collect children from school and tthe water levels were rising, areas were alerted to evacuate and the 2x bridges across the river were being closed. Tabs and I picked the kids up and took them for a drive around to see the river and some public flooded areas - they were so amazed to see all the water.
