80's Cruise - Day 1

We were up at 6am and on the road before 7am - LOTS of rain the night before (304 ml in 12 hrs) and we were concerned about road closures. It was the most hair raising trip to Brisbane I've ever experienced!!  After we passed Tiaro we started to get really concerned - flooded areas and water started to cross the road. At one spot the traffic was stopped and we thought the road was closed but cars were just slowly crossing the road.  We watched the cars crossing and made a judgement call it was safe enough to cross. If we had left 30 mins later this morning, we would have been stuck at Tiaro cause the roads closed not long after we went through! An hour and 30 mins out side of Brisbane the rain poured down and made visibility very difficult, but slowly eased up after 30 mins - the trip tooks us over 5.5 hours!

We finally made it to the port...then had to wait for Tab's bags to arrive from port parking.

Carnival's very cute mascot!

Our room -

Bags in our room and straight to the Pantry for a very late lunch!

Back to our room to watch the sail away and get ready for dinner.  While Craig chilled out on the balcony - Clay and I decorated the room to celebrate Craig's 50th birthday :)

The theme for tonight was 80's icons.

Dinner at Drafon Lady - declious!

We caught up with Tabs & Torrie at the Piano Bar 88 to listen to a great duo, then to the Encounter Hotel for another great band and lots of people watching! There were so many fabulous costumes!

Dessert before heading to bed.

First towel animal for the trip - Ellie elephant :)

Everyday Moments

Poor Maverick had an ingrown claw on his back paw and the other paw was starting to be ingrown also, so the vet recommended removing both claws.  While he was under we got him de-sexed and clipped.  He was pretty chipper straight after the op, but is a bit sore and sorry for himself at the moment.  He does NOT like the cone of shame!

Craig's current game display.. a few empty stands waiting for him to find new games LOL

A few celebrations at work for Craig's upcoming 50th - lunch and a bottle of tequila in Rocky and then balloons, lunch and cake in Bundy.

Craig found me this new Disney lego set online - how cute are the mini figurines!?! I can't wait to build it and display it on my Disney wall!

This puppy can go from being super nuaghty,  destroying cushions and shredding cardboard to being all cute and playing with balloons LOL

Thrifty Thursday

Saturday Mum, Clay and I spent the morning together and popped into 2 op shops.

At the first shop I found - craft punch $2

Small Fire King bowl $3

Books -all up $8

Mowgli (from Gremlins) $5.  This movie traumatised me as a child LOL  I joked it needs a wash, but I don't know if I should risk it LOL

At the 2nd shop it was my turn to find some books $2 & $3

Cute tree brooches $1 each

Gorgeous protea flower wire brooch $4

Clay found a C3PO Cuddly for Kristy $1

Large planter pot $5

This find was exciting for me - I brought a packet of these bread bag sealers / clips ages ago and they all went missing :(  I found this packet of 7 for $1.50! I'm hoping the bright colour makes them harder to lose.

Clay found these awesome novelty glasses $2 - perfect for the cruise!!
