Poona - Camping Day 2 & 3

Day 2 - We were up early and off to Tin Can Bay to feed the dolphins - Clay was so excited :)  We took Clay when he was a baby, so it was wonderful to take him again now he was big enough to feed them himself.

Back to camp for a late breakfast and then back in the car to go to Maryborough for more exploring and see some of the Mary Poppins festival activities.

We spotted this fire as we were driving along - the rural fire brigade was there and other fire engines were heading towards it.

First stop was Queens Park to have a look around. So much to see just in the park!

Checking out the street art.

Clay spotted the umbrella painting activity, so we brought a ticket and he loved painting it :)

May Poppins statue and more street art.

We had to take a detour home due to the fire!

Back to camp for a late lunch of charcuterie board- a camping "must have"!

Back down to the river to chase sand crabs, have a splash and play in the playground.

Day 3 - Breakfast, pack up and off home.  What a wonderful weekend away!

Poona - Camping Day 1

We were so excited to finally have the camper, so decided a spontaneous weekend away would be a good idea to get a feel for it and make sure there were no any issues before we head away for our group trip in October.

I worked my roster to finish early Friday lunch  Craig and Clay grabbed some last minute things, hooked up the camper, picked me up and off we went!

We did try and book a stay in Tin Can Bay, but they were booked out  so Craig did a bit of research and someone suggested Poona Palms Holiday Park.

After we set up we went for a look around the park - camp kitchen and pool (pity it was too cold for a swim).

We headed to the river for a look - a gorgeous sunset and the tide was out.  Clay had a play in the playground.

Reception sent us a text to say that there was live music and food at the hall across the road, so we headed across to check it out :) It was great- hot pork roast and vege rolls, a couple of different bands, cheap beers and a playground for Clay to play in!
