Thrifty Thursday

A friend dropped off this large bag of lego for Clay - it was even packed in colour coded bags!  We have already unpacked it and started building with it :)

I popped into an op shop last Friday after work - yay!  Life seems so busy lately - need to make more time for opping! Lol

Found this necklace (love these!) $2.50

Getting ready for Book Week - kangaroo (?) Costume $4

Meeting Darcie

We finally got to meet our beautiful niece / cousin Darcie on Sunday! Clay's been itching to see her since she born on the 28th February, but she spent the first few weeks in hospital and then we had to wait for her to get her immunisations.  Clay was totally smitten - he kept wanting to nurse her and was talking to her and playing with her the whole time :)

ANZAC Day

Clay was tired and cranky yesterday morning, so he stayed home with me and Craig headed off to the march and wreath laying ceremony by himself. Craig said he thought the crowd was bigger than usual- maybe because we all realised what we were missing last year when ANZAC ceremonies where cancelled due to Covid?!

After going to see baby Darcie, we headed down to Bargara to watch an F18 do a fly by - boy was it loud!!  It was such a lovely day we decided to have fish & chips at the beach :)

Monster Trucks and a Birthday Party

After the aero club open day we headed off to a birthday party for one of Clay's school friends.  On the way we spotted the monster trucks, so stopped to have a closer look!

From the monster trucks we headed to the party. Clay had a fun time bouncing on the jumping castle, running around with his friends, playing party games and eating lots of party food :)

Aero Club Open Day

This morning we headed to the airport to check out the Aero Club open day. Clay had a bounce on the jumping castle and then we wandered around looking at all the different planes.  Craig admired this Wirraway plane - he's a BIG military fan.

They were offering free 10 minutes scenic flights- so Craig and Clay put their names down!  I know my limits and there is no way I would have been able to make myself get on that tiny little plane without panicking,  so I stayed on the ground and let the boys enjoy their adventure :) Clay and Craig loved every minute of it!! I thought Clay might be a little frightened sitting in the back by himself, but Craig said he had a huge grin the entire time :)

We all had a wonderful morning and will definitely go to the next open day!

School Holidays Fun

Clay has had a fun filled 2 weeks for the school holidays! We kicked it off with our camping trip to Cania Gorge.  Back home- he opened / played with toys he got from his party - he had been saving them for the holidays.  He started painting a canvas, set up a dinosaur terrarium, built the  Bunnings lego he got for his birthday and FINALLY opened up the two Mario lego set I had been itching to play with LOL

There was a trip to Bunnings to get the new lego sets and to the library for books.

We had lunch out and went to the movies see "Tom & Jerry".

There was a day with Nanny and Brodie, then 2 days with Poppy who took him to the beach for a swim and hot chippies for lunch :)

We had 2 days in Brisbane for the hospital appointment.  Friday Clay complained of a sore tummy and it was very tender to touch, so driving home from Brisbane we called 13Health who recommended we head straight to the hospital when we got back to Bundy.  We were in emergency for about 4.5 hours while the checked him over and did an ultrasound.  They ruled out appendicitis and a few other things and decided to discharge him with the recommendation that we bring him straight back up if it worsens.  By Saturday afternoon he was back to his usual self?!?!

We spent yesterday afternoon with friends, celebrating Bex's birthday.

This morning we spent some time setting up / playing with new Ikea storage box before heading to Simply Crafty for the day.

So all up we have had a busy and fun filled break :)
