Bridal Bouquet Shadow Box

While I was making the wedding flowers, I decided I wanted to make a shadow box display of Bethany's wedding flowers as a gift.  I found a brand new shadow box while op shopping and it was the perfect size.

I used black cardstock on the back and layered the flowers and the dice on top.

When I put it in the frame it was too big and the flowers got squished when I closed the back - oops!

Plan B....I brought some wooden paint stirrers and cut & glued them to extend the frame.

I painted the extended frame black to hide the printing on the sticks and to blend in with the background.

The finished product! Originally I was going to put Des & Bethany's name with the date across the front, but decided it would cover the flowers too much.  I love how this turned out and I hope Beth likes it :)

Pacific Airshow- Part 2

More airshow pics!  It was starting to get pretty overcast and cold, but the rain held off :)

After the airshow finished we knew there would be hours wait for the trams and we didnt want to stand around in the rain that had just started, so we wandered down Cavill Avenue and found a cafe to sit and have a drink, before heading to chill out for a bit in the lounge area at Esther & Jason's hotel. At about 7pm we decided to head to the tram stop and see how the crowd was - when we arrived we found it was nearly empty and a tram just pulled up, so we headed home after a long snd fun filled day.

Pacific Airshow - Part 1

We were up early and on the tram to Surfers Paradise for the 2026 Pacific Airshow! Kristy's friend & her family are visiting from the UK and thir youngest Ben had a sleepover with Clay Friday - they had a great time :)  Esther, hubby Jason and son Alex met us at the gates.

There were a heap of marquees set up in the boardwalk with STEM activities / displays and info about aviation & military careers - Clay had a fantastic time checking it all out :)

We set up our chairs and got ready for the show!  The weather alternated between sunny & overcast, luckily the rain held off until afterwards.
