Cards

I managed to get 10 cards made on the weekend! My goal was 17 so I could reach my yearly goal, but I think that was a bit ambitious LOL

I got to use a few new dies, stamps and stencils - lots of fun! First card  was a birthday card for Kristy and then Christmas cards. To bulk up my stash I decided to make 2 variations of the same design :)

Cricut Creations - Christmas Shirt

I popped back down to my scraproom yesterday afternoon to make Clay a Christmas shirt and started making a countdown chalkboard for mum.  I love how the shirt turned out!

While I was making the shirt, Clay was making his first card on the Joy!  He chose the design, colours and card and I helped change tools and putting it together :)  He's so proud of the card and can't wait to make more - next card I'll let him do more by himself so he can create independently.

Card Camp

Kristy came up on Friday so we could squeeze in one last card camp for 2021! We weren't super productive, but did lots of shopping, went to a Cricut demonstration at Spotlight, had a yummy lunch out, had a swim and made some cards!  Kristy visit is just what I needed ready to recharge before the silly season kicks off :)

Another Cricut

I have done things "backwards" - most people buy the small cricut Joy and then upgrade to the bigger Cricut Maker...I brought the Maker and then brought a Joy LOL  My friend Molly decided to sell her Joy (less than 3 months old) and accessories when she upgraded to a Maker and I brought it!  It's the perfect size to take in the camper and I also feel happier with Clay using the Joy instead of my Maker.  Clay is so excited- he thinks it his new Cricut and can't wait to make cards with it LOL

Everyday Moments

A jar of honey as a thank you gift for the stencil I made :)

We took my mum out for Chinese for her birthday, followed by an ice cream - love Clay's sneaky lick of the ice cream while she was distracted LOL

We spotted this carpet python heading across the road one night.

I woke up with a swollen jaw, but a course of antibiotics and I was feeling better.

After getting the clearance from my geneticist, I had my first dose of Covid vaccine - no reactions or side effects.

Sunday we headed to the beach for Craig's mum's birthday lunch - fish & chips :)

One of the guys brought his new puppy into work for an hour yesterday - Ally and I took turns cuddling with him - so cute!

I popped into a couple of discount shops yesterday and found some costumes for the elves :) I'm surprised just how cheap they were between $2 - $3.50 each!

Today Mum, Clay and I went for a drive - we stopped to buy watermelons from a road side stall.

Then we stopped to see the new visitor centre at the macadamia farm - taste tested the different flavoured macadamia, brought some choc coated macadamia and cracked the fresh ones they gave us when we walked in :)

From there we headed back to mum's for home made sushi for lunch and then went for a drive down to Sandy Hook to check the water levels for paddling and went to see the barrage (where they let the water through from the dam).

Cricut Creations- Bag

The biggest pro for having a cricut...being able to make personalised gifts :)  Ally was so excited to recieve this bag I made for her birthday.

Cricut Creations - Christmas Countdown

I finally managed to get some (I grabbed 5x since they had stock) mini chalkboards from Kmart to make a Christmas countdown board! I had a few ideas pinned, but this design was my favourite.  I kept the colours very similar, but swapped out maroon for blue.  I love how this turned out.  Think I'll make one for my mum for my nephews to use :)

It seems nothing is safe from being "cricuted" - I've even labelled my cricut tools :)

School Photo

This year's photo is a bit awkward looking- showing off Clay's forced smile LOL

Cards

Three more cards made using the cricut - so quick and easy :)  The JOY card originally had a different sentiment, but due to it ripping while cutting I opted to use my alpha dies to cut out a sentiment instead.

Miara - Camping

We headed off Friday afternoon for a weekend away camping :)  We went to Miara which is about 35 mins outside of Bundaberg- which is a good thing, because we forgot to pack our bag of clothes so Craig had to do run back home Saturday morning LOL  We set up our camper, had a quick look at the river and then headed to the playground for a play, before having dinner and settling down for the night.

These poor scrub turkeys- for some unknown reason Clay took an instant disliking to them and would chase them, yelling and shaking his fist every time he would spot one lol

It rained during the night and we woke to some dark clouds, but had pancakes for breakfast and went off for a walk to look around a bit more.  We decided not to swim or paddle to due to strong current warning signs, but did splash in the water, built sandcastles and did some fishing instead.

After fishing and playing, we walked up to the playground where we met another family and got to chatting while the boys played.

Charcuterie board (a camping "must") for lunch and a rest, before heading off with the other family to go yabbying. I thought Clay might not be keen on grabbing the yabbies, but he was in there grabbing them and putting them in the bucket :)

We all headed back to the playground and met up with a 2nd family - so we chatted for 2 hours about all things camping and travelling.  They have given us a great list of places to stay and things to see & do on our trip to Winton next year!  It was starting to get dark, so we headed back to the camper for dinner, showers, some chill out time, then an early night after a big day!

This morning we woke up to overcast skies and a slight drizzle, so packed up most of the camping gear before heading to the river for a bit more fishing and used somw of the yabbies we caught yesterday didn't even get a nibble!

I think that's going to be our last camping trip for the year.  We have a few places on our "to visit" list and will hopefully be able to squeeze in a quick trip somewhere in January.
