Thrifty Thursday

After a week of sitting on the couch with vertigo, I was ready to escape the house on Saturday! I got to pop into 4 op shops - including one I've only been to once before :)

At the first shop I found this dress $5

This diamond painting storage box $4 was perfect - I've started a project amdd the diamond dots are in bags that don't reseal and are going everywhere!

Book $2 - Clay has already finished reading it LOL

At yhe 2nd shop I found new Christmas wrapping paper $2

The 3rd shop had some exciting finds...

Unopened Disneyland souvenirs- $2 for paper props & banner and $6 for the sketch book.

At the last shop I found 2x brand new shadow box frames $8 & $10 - which was perfect cause I was actually heading to Kmart afterwards to buy some LOL

Cricut Creations - Hat

While I was working on the water bottle design Clay asked if I could also make him a hat. He had already picked his design and I showed him his choices of hats. He was super happy with the finished hat and I was happy to finally use the hat from one of the Craftathon project boxes LOL 

Cricut Creations - Drink Bottle

Clay asked me to decorate a water bottle for pickleball and I decided it was time to stop procrastinating and get it done!  I found a few designs and Clay picked his fave. He loved how this design turned out :)

Beaded Pot Plant Kit

I saw this craft kit online and stalked my local Kmart until they had it in stock :) It was only $5 and I thought it was super cute!

After sitting on my table for about a month I finally started making it a few weeks ago.  I liked the fact that the pot was plastic and not really terracotta.  The green "fluff" that was supposed to go over the foam base was not a solid piece of fabric, but more like crumbs so I threw that out!

The instructions were very basic - the single strand strings where simple, but the strands where the wire was twisted was not explained well enough.  It took a few unsuccessful attempts and leaving it for a week cause I was so frustrated before I tried again and got it to work.  It wasnt as quick and easy as I thought it would be - I worked on it a few strands at a time over a few weeks.  If I just did single strands it would have been done in one afternoon, but I really wanted to add the twisted beaded strands in.

The finished product- I'm super happy with how this turned out! It took me longer to photograph the end result than it did to make it LOL  With it getting darker earlier and busy weekends, I haven't had the best lighting lately.

GC Weekend

Clay had another specialist appointment at the Children's Hospital on Friday, so we decided to spend the weekend with Kristy again :)

Our first toilet stop on the trip down and we spotted.....a toilet! Clay thought it was hilarious LOL

We arrived early for the appointment, so Clay had a play in the playground and a visit to the Captain Starlight kid's rooms. We didnt have our usual 2 hour wait and were lucky enough to be finished and headed to the GC before 3pm!

Saturday had a Cricut demo, so Craig and Clay ran a few errands / visited some work stores to catch up with co-workers, then headed to Robina shopping centre for lunch and a look around.

I got to watch Kristy demo at Burliegh Spotlight and did a bit of shopping ;)

After we packed up, we headed to Robina to meet up with the boys.  We had a late lunch, then hit the shops.  We couldn't resist a visit to the Lego store :)

This morning we were up early and headed home.  Love our weekend visits with Kristy.

I was motivated to make a card! One of the tech's had a big birthday :)

Cricut Creations- Keyrings & Pouches

I'm a bit slow sharing my Cricut creations from Kristy's social day when we were on the GC last month.  I didn't have any specific projects in mind - just packed some blanks and a range of vinyls.

I made these cute hotel keyrings - pretty happy eith how they turned out :)

A canvas drawstring pouch - I love this image!!

I used infusible ink on this zippered pouch - infusible is not something I usually create with, but I am super happy with how this turned out.
