Mini Vacay -Day 1 & 2 - Brisbane

Day 1 - We headed down to Brisbane Tuesday lunch, ready for Clay's pre-op appointment Wednesday morning at the Children's Hospital.  Kristy had to work at the hospital that morning, so we met up early for breakfast.

We met Clay's surgeon who advised us they had discussed his surgery last week and wanted to do some further tests on his eyes first.  After doing checks she advised that due to the high risk complications they were going to postpone the surgery!  They want to see if his vision is effected due to degeneration or the cataract, se we are getting him some new glasses and the have appointment booked for mid January.  If the new lens prescription improves his vision  they will delay surgery further until the cataracts affect his vision.  We were a combination of relieved / confused/ disappointed, cause we were expecting him to have his surgery Thursday morning.  We had been on the waiting list for 4 months waiting for this moment, then they delay it?!?!?

We decided to look at the positives (mainly he can enjoy our mini vacay and be able to swim this summer) and enjoy our break.  After the hospital visit, we headed to Chris' place to spend the night / visit him.  We spent a lovely afternoon/ night catching up and enjoyed a delicious meal.

Day 2 - Yesterday it was hot, so we headed of early to an amazing playground so Clay could have a run around.

After the playground, we headed to a tavern for an early lunch.

Chris had to head to work, so we headed to the Gold Coast to continue our mini vacay.  We dropped our bags off at Kristy's and headed to the shops to grab some stuff for dinner and kill some time before Kristy finished work.  Even though we didn't have any swimmers, it was so hot we let Clay play in the splash area in the playground lol
