The Rabbit Hole Paint + Sip

Tonight I did an online tutorial for an acrylic painting class through The Rabbit Hole .  I couldn't resist the cute llama when it came up on Facebook, so signed up straight away :)  Rosalie sent the traceable llama and zoom link - I had to pick up a few extra supplies (paint and canvas) and Craig set up Zoom for me and helped me log in and I was good to go!  It was a pretty good pace, but I forgot to take photos along the way.  I'm super proud of my first painting!  I'm looking forward to doing a few more tutorials!  I might make a gallery wall in my scraproom ;)

Mother's Day

Due to Craig working Sunday, I suggested we celebrate Mothers Day today and everyone agreed.  Clay and Craig gave me my present this morning -  some new winter pyjamas and Clay picked these flamingo slippers for me - he knows the way to his mummys heart :) I got a gorgeous handmade card and little sticky note book - school had sent the craft kits home and mum and Clay had made them this week :)

We took my new kayak out for a paddle today- I was so excited!  Craig's mum joined us for the day  - she was really impressed with how well Clay was paddling.  It was wonderful to be able to paddle with mum :)  We went for a long paddle, Clay got tired 1/4 way along, so guess who had to tow his chunky butt the rest of the way?!?! LOL

After the paddle we set up tables and chairs to have the picnic we had packed - chicken and salad, followed by some mini cakes / desserts.  Both mum's enjoyed the gifts we brought them and thought lunch was lovely.  Usually we take them out for Chinese lunch, but with COVID 19 restriction we had to change our usual tradition, but we all still had a wonderful day :)

Learning at Home- Week 4

Another great week of learning at home this week, plus it was only a short week due to the public holiday on Monday.  Tuesday mum and Clay picked up this week's learning kits from the school.  Clay practiced his letters and numbers, writing his name and worked through the various activities.  There was also fun gardening and going for a ride everyday :)

Friday was Daddy and Clay day, so they did all the school work before heading down the beach with poppy for hot chippies and ice cream, then their walk / ride.

Queensland has changed it's restriction levels this week and certain grades are heading back to school next week.  Prep was on that list, so Clay's back to school on Monday.  We hope most of his class mates go back as well, he's really missing them all.

Layouts

Today was a public holdiay and we had planned to spend the morning at the river, so I could try out my new kayak, but the weather didn't look too good so we stayed home instead.  I took the opportunity of an extra day off to head down to my scraproom and scrap a bit more.  I suprised myself by getting another 3 layouts scrapped!

I was feeling inspired today, so I headed down to my scraproom and got 2 layouts scrapped!  I have officially scrapped all of Clay's birthdays - woo hoo!!

Learning at Home - Week 3

Craig's work roster changed, so he did schooling with Clay Monday and Tuesday this week.  Clay didn't like the change of routine, so wouldn't do his school work to start with, but a change in tactics with a science experiment and things settled down.  They even watched a live presentation on seals at Underwater World, which was a new learning experience.  Tuesday they headed over to the Botanic Gardens to catch up with Poppy and to feed the ducks/ turtles /eels and to catch butterflies with his new net.

Wednesday Clay was back at Ma Ma's and they had lessons out on the front verandah in the morning, as the overcast weather made it too dark on the back verandah.  As well as the usual school work they worked in cutting skills, did some crafts and baked a batch of cupcakes.  Mum ran out of icing sugar, so we iced and decorated them at home.

Thursday Clay did some maths, did his workbooks and practiced writing his first and last name.

There was great excitement when we arrived at mum's Friday- there was road works right out the front of the house! Clay had front row seats to the action, with mum bringing him snacks and drinks LOL

Scrap The Boys - Guest Designer

I was so excited to be invited to be a guest designer for the May challenge "Baby it's Hot Outside" at Scrap The Boys.  I had to scrap a layout using the picture as inspiration and send a short bio and head shot :)

Please leave me a comment if you join in the challenge - I would love to see what you create!
