Everyday Moments

I decided to try growing a pineapple from the top.  I googled "how to" - I pulled off the lower leaves and dried the top for a few days.  My little helper gave me a hand to plant it up in a pot (will be moved to the large succulent garden once it takes root).

Craig's brother turned 40 and the whole family celebrated with dinner out at a sports club.  Perfect chance to get a photo of all the cousins together!

The show was on recently - we didn't go, but did take Clay over one night to see the fireworks.

One of Clay's playdoh creations - might explain some of his nightmares...?!?! ;)

The gorgeous decorations off my birthday cake :)

Bex & B came over one morning for a play date and catch up - playdoh was very popular.

My 40th Birthday Weekend!

Partying kicked off Friday when Kristy & Boo arrived at lunch time - they had stopped in at the Rum factory and the ginger beer factory on their way.

We headed to the shops to pick up a few last minute things - Craig abd Kristy went to grab the grocerries while Boo, Clay and I went to Kmart.  Craig and Kristy found us in Kmart, whee we wandered around buying a few bits & pieces - when we got to the checkouts Craig asked "where's the trollery (with the grocerries)?) - whoops Kristy got distracted and left it in the aisle!! Bahahahaha

Friday night there was lots of taste testing of the liquers while Kristy made 2 batches of cupcakes and I supervised LOL  After dinner we made rumballs with salted caramel rum liquer and chocolate condensed milk - yummy!  Boo rolled the rumballs in coconut and Kristy and I made the pineapple leaf toppers for the cupcakes.

Saturday morning was a bit of a slow start, but perked up a bit when we "Irished" up our hot chocolates at breakfast ;)  Hey, it was a "go big or go home" kinda weekend LOL

Kristy needed a nanna nap to re-energise before the other visitors arrived and the shennanigans began ;)

Cupcakes were iced and

Bec, Dale & Kids arrived just as we were heading to the airport to pick up Chris :)  We all got back home and had some lunch, before spending a few hours chatting and then getting ready for the party.

The after party saw us partying till after 2am - lots of laughing, silly-ness and photos that will not be shared on any social media ;) Craig and Dale went to bed early with the kids - thank heavens for responsible parents LOL Yes, I am drinking wine out of a mason jar - we're all class in this house :)  I may have gone to bed fully clothed LOL

Sunday morning we got up (AKA dragged our butts out of bed! LOL) and Becca cooked us bacon & eggs for breakfast. I can boast that I didn't have a hangover, but some others (cough cough Kristy....) had to go back to bed after breakfast ha ha!

The kids played together and we all chatted some more.  Lunch time came and Bec & Co headed off, followed by Kristy and Boo an hour later, then an hour later we dropped Chris off at the airport.

It was the perfect weekend filled with family and friends to celebrate a huge birthday!

My 40th Birthday Party!

I had an amazing night celebrating my 40th with family and friends!   Bec, Kristy and I got dressed early and headed over to the East End Hotel to decorate the room with pineapples and flamingos, set the music up, decorate the photo booth and set up the cupcakes.  Tanya, Bert & Bex arrived early and helped us set up.
Guests arrived and it was lovely to catch up with everyone and see them enjoying the photobooth.  We ordered our meals (I orrdered pork belly and scallops with orange sauce - delicious!) and chatted while we waited.

Bec gave a beautiful speech (that made me feel very loved and emotional LOL) before it was time to cut the cake.

My amazing (and very delicious) cake that Cathie organised for me :)

We set up a photobooth in the corner of the room - Cathie set up her equipment (camera, laptop & selphy printer) and everyone took lots of funny, silly photos :)  Once I work out how to download them, I will share more :)

Embellishment Swap - Travel Theme

I recently participated in an embellishment swap with a scrapping FB page.  I miss creating embellishment swaps, so when a travel theme swap came up I jumped at the chance :)  Due to being short on time I decided to keep it simple with a few different die cuts - cardstock and cork, a pocket and a simple inchie.  Hope everyone likes them and can't wait to see what everyone else has created :)

Simply Crafty - Mixed Media Cards

Today Helen from Lorna Blue Studio demonstrated how to create mixed media backgrounds, which we made into cards.  She showed how to create the base, than add layers with stencils and paints.  I learnt lots of great tips and will definately create more mixed media backgrounds.
