Prom Night!

We had a wonderful night! The limo picked us all up and we drove around drinking champagne for an hour. We had professional photos done when we got there - can't wait to see how they turned out! After socialising and checking out everyone's dresses - we sat down to a delicious 3 course meal, had the awards presentation, then danced the night away! Craig got awarded Team Leader of the Year (again) - I'm so proud of him! I hope all these awards don't go to his head! LOL I had a bit to drink and don't seem to have taken many photos :o( Will have to get copies off everyone else! Luckily I didn't wake up with a hangover :o)

Craig & I

My beautiful corsage!

As promised - here is a pic of Craig's tattoo. It took 4.5 hours and a bit of pain, but he loves it!! I think it looks great - the detail that has gone into it is amazing!!

I even managed to scrap a LO today!! I found this challenge site - Crafty Sketches -today and loved the sketch. I already had the pic printed and selected the papers, but wasn't sure how I wanted to scrap it.

Finally some LO!

I finally made some time in my crazy life to get some scrapping done!!

This is the first pic I have scrapped from Cathie & Andrew's wedding. I wanted to use the sheet music Cathie found and make the LO shabby chic. I love the way it turned out. I scrapped this LO for Scrap The Girls May challenge.

This pic is from last weekend's impromptu photo shoot after the tea party. I love the pic - it's been ages since mum & I got a photo together. I scrapped this for Puzzle Sketches May challenge.

The main pic doesn't really show the bling and 3D butterflies, so I thought I would share a close up pic as well.

Prom night tonight - woo hoo!! I'm so excited!! I got my nails done yesterday - first time ever! I just got an acrylic overlay, with a French manicure. The nail tech also painted a pink & white flower with a diamante on my fourth fingers - very cute! I am sitting here typing with my hair in curlers - good thing I don't have to leave the house today!! LOL All that's left to do is chill the champagne & organise the nibblies once Craig gets home with the shopping.

Craig is currently at the Tattoo shop getting his first tattoo this morning. Yeah, not the best day to get one, but the tattoo artist he wanted was booked up a month in advance and today was the first available appt. He is getting an Indian armband with feathers (full armband and coloured). He has always wanted one and since I was threatening to get my 2nd tattoo before he got his first one it prompted him to make the appt!! LOL I can't wait to see how it turns out!

It's a boy!

Congratulations to Bec G & Sean on the birth of their son Tristan on Saturday morning! Mum & bub are doing so well that Bec popped in to work today to show him off - he is SOOOO cute!!

I forgot to mention - I had the cutest phone call Sunday morning... Becca & Connor rang me up. Bec put the speaker phone on so Connor & I could hear each other and he kept making the cutest little noises :o) I can't believe he is 4 months already!! I think it's time I went up to Rocky again for a weekend - soon!!

Tea Party

The "High Tea" held at Fairymead House yesterday was wonderful :o) Everyone said they had a lovely time and enjoyed the food. As usual mum & I over-catered, so we sent goodies home for everyone's "other half" in cute little noodle boxes tied with pink ribbon. LOL

There were lots of raffles - I was lucky enough to win a "Lucky Spot" prize and 2 of the other ladies at our tables also won prizes.

I even did some scrapping for the tea party - I made these cute little cupcake picks.

Because there were a few mothers & daughters at our tables - Kylie suggested we have an impromptu photo shoot in the gorgeous Botanical Gardens. It's been ages since mum & I have had a photo together (usually I'm behind the camera) - so we jumped at the chance.

Cooking up a storm!

Mum and I have been in the kitchen today cooking for the High Tea we are hosting tomorrow afternoon for the Lions Club. So far we have made & iced orange & poppy seed cupcakes, made mini caramel tarts and chocolate fudge + squeezed 3 litres of fresh orange juice. Tomorrow we just need to make the sandwiches, ice the chocolate fudge, make scones & mini quiches and whip the cream :o)

The Lions Club decided to do things a little different for this fundraiser. One person decides to be the hostess for a table of 6-8 friends (who each pay $6 to attend) - we supply all the goodies + decorate our own table. Mum and I each have a table, but are joining them together. We are going with pink, shabby chic settings. I will take my camera tomorrow to get some pics.

Getting ready for "The Prom"

The awards night (The Prom theme) for work is next weekend, so I have been busy organising things. I have ordered my wrist corsage and Craig's buttonhole - going with pink, orange & white flowers. I put Craig's suit in to be dry cleaned and we brought Craig's tie - HOT PINK!! I thought he would go with the sunburnt orange colour, but he preferred the pink!?!? The limo is booked - we have hired it for an hour. Everyone is coming over for drinks & nibblies + photos at home, then we are going to cruise around in the limo. I'm really looking forward to it - it will be a great night!!

Swaps

I finished my swaps last night and sent them off today. Photo quality isn't great - it's pouring rain here so it's not the best lighting.

Scrap the Boys - Red, black & cream swap.

Scrap the Girls - Birds swap.

White with 1 - Green swap.

I love doing swaps! It's great to see what other people make :o) I'm thinking of asking the ladies at Simply Crafty if they would like to arrange a swap.

Warning...long post and LOTS of pics!

What a crazy, busy week it's been!! Thursday & Friday Craig was in Sydney for a team leader conference and awards night for work. He was given an award for Team leader trait - Respect. I'm so proud of him!! Will put up pics once I get some.

Friday I went straight from work to meet up with Kylie at the Sew What's Crafty expo so we could help Donna at her stall.

I was doing a make & take demonstration on how to make paper flowers. These were some samples I made to display.

Saturday I met up with Cathie back the expo where we had a look around and did some shopping. I got lots of lovely new scrap things to play with :o) We went over to Kylie's for lunch and a catch up. Then I went back to the expo for a couple more hours to help Donna some more and then to pack up.

Today we gave the house a Spring clean. I tackled the cupboards with all the storage containers - I swear Craig stands back, opens the door, throws in the containers, then slams the door shut before everything tumbles out!! LOL The only room that is left to clean is my scrap room.

Craig's mum and I finally got around to painting the cement mushrooms we made at Easter. I had 2 lots waiting to be painted.

Cathie dropped by this morning to give me an old book of sheet music she brought at the markets. I had mentioned to the girls yesterday that I was looking for old sheet music or patterned paper/stamp if I couldn't find anything suitable. This is perfect!! Plus there will lots left over for other LO!!

Katie & Cohan are visiting for a week, but with things being so hectic I have literally only seen them for an hour over the last 4 days!! Tonight we are having a dinner party for 8. Craig is currently in the kitchen preparing / cooking. For the main course we are having chicken, Camembert cheese & bacon wrapped in filo pastry with seeded mustard sauce + vegetables. Dessert is individual chocolate puddings with hot chocolate sauce.

My rug / blanket is coming along nicely - I have completed 10 squares now! I have been trying to finish 2 squares a night, just working on them while we are watching TV. I started off with some left over balls of wool mum had, but brought some more in shades of pinks & blues.

These are the crochet flowers I made.

I brought this wooden box at a garage sale last weekend for $5. Mum took it home and sanded & re-varnished it for me. I think it's supposed to be a potato / vegetable box, but since I already have one of those - it's perfect for keeping all my crochet bits & pieces together.

I'm hoping to finish my 3 lots of swaps tonight - will post pics later.

Happy Mother's Day!!

I hope all mum's had a lovely day being spoilt rotten by their families!

Craig & I got up early this morning and went to the local markets. We stocked up on fresh fruit & veges for this week and had a look at all the different stalls. I tried to convince Craig that we needed a kitten, but no luck. LOL

We had both our mums over for lunch and to spend the afternoon with us. I tried out a new recipe - chicken & potato bake - yummo! Plus we had a lovely fresh fruit salad. Both mums loved their presents :o) Craig & his mum watched sports on TV, while my mum gave me a refresher course on how to crochet (it's been years since I've done it). I've decided to crochet a knee rug - 1 square down... LOL We also worked out how to crochet flowers - my first two attempts are terrible, but the third one looks good :o)

A new month..

Means new challenges!! I have checked out all my favourite challenge blogs + a few extras. I always have big plans on doing most of the challenges, but unfortunately time and motivation doesn't allow me LOL

I have signed up for 3 swaps this month- Scrap the Girls, White with 1 and Scrap the Boys. I love seeing what everyone else has made.

BTW - Pop over to Petrina's and check out her very cute new range of chippies!!

Congratulations Mr & Mrs McInnes

Cathie & Andrew got married this morning at Bargara Berries, with a brunch reception. It was a beautiful ceremony and lovely relaxed morning! A celebrant married them in the gardens - there were some beautiful vows & readings, then the reception was in the gazebo.

The happy couple

My cakes & cake boxes :o)

Kylie & I took heaps of pics - so expect to see lots of wedding LO in the next couple of weeks :o)

Nearly organised....

The wedding cupcakes are made and iced - they look very cute :o) The cupcake boxes are all finished. Now I just need to hem up Craig's pants, iron our clothes, empty the camera cards and charge the batteries :o) Kylie and I are doing the photography tomorrow - so we will have lots of photos to scrap :o)

I'm sure the bride-to-be won't be checking out my blog tonight, so I will share the wedding card I made.

The flowers are very easy to make - I found some instructions, plus a bit of trial & error and they turned out perfectly!! I'm sure these will feature on a lot more LO!!

Bring on the weekend!!

This week has just dragged by! I've tossed & turned till the early hours of the morning every night this week - I'm so exhausted!!

Okay - a quick catch up of since the last post...I had a fabulous time at Simply Crafty on Sunday afternoon. It's lovely catching up with everyone :o) I managed to work on a few LO - I just have to add titles and embellishments to finish them off. I was teased a bit for my terrible habit of not completing LO - I do eventually - does that count?!?! LOL Just to prove it...here is one I started at Simply Crafty and finished at home...

I'm really pleased with how this robot accent worked out - the wire was easy to cut and shape.

Plus I made a wedding card - I will post pics after the wedding.

Sunday afternoon we got in and trimmed back all the plants and did some gardening. Mum's partner - Mike - gave us a prime example of why it's best NOT to use a whipper-snipper to trim your trees!! The look of horror on my mum's face was priceless! And he wonders why we call him a red-neck?!?! ROFLMAO

My White With 1 neutrals swap arrived yesterday - what a gorgeous variety of embellishments!! I can't wait to scrap with them!!

Scrap the Girls is having a bird themed swap for May - if your interested, you have till the 10th May to go over there and sign up.

I've been decorating cupcake boxes for the wedding this weekend. The icing flowers turned out perfectly :o) Mum is coming over tomorrow and we are going to make & decorate the cupcakes.
