Glitter cards

In between all the packing and last minute running around I managed to get 2 cards made :)  The first one is for my mum, who is lucky enough to celebrate a very special birthday while we are on the cruie!  The 2nd card is for my bestie - I'm hoping she doesn't pick this week to check my blog LOL

Retreat

I had an AMAZING time at the retreat!  Lots of scrapping, catching up with friends, way too much delicious food, drinkies and late night chats and giggles with my roomies  :)  I packed 10 kits, but managed to get 14 layouts scrapped - woo hoo!  That means I have hit my 2013 scrappy goal - yay me :)

My table - and this was only the first LO!!  Bahaha I did tidy it up between layouts though :)

Everyone scrapping up a storm and having a great time :)

The food was delicious!  Breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner - seemed like we just finished one meal and then it was time to eat again :)

Packed and ready

Things have been crazy around here lately - I realised I haven't even shared that I'm heading off to a scrap retreat this weekend!  I booked and paid months ago, but with life being so busy  it just crept up on me :)  I have been sorting through my supplies and packing kits all week.  A whole weekend to scrap, eat delicious food, have a few drinks and catch up with friends - bliss!  I hope I haven't forgotten anything :)

Clay flowers

Last week I brought a cake decorating magazine that had this flower mold.   I decided to buy some air dry clay and have a go at making some clay flowers to use for scrapping / card making.

The flowers came out of the mold pretty easily and they will take about 24 hrs to air dry.  I'm going to try a few different mediums (ink pad, spritzers and paint) to colour them.

Beer Festabull 2013

Saurday night Craig, Diane and I headed off to the Beer Festibull.  We watched the bullriding, fireworks and then (the real reason I was excited to by going) saw Adam Brand :)   I loved that he sang a lot of his older (and my favourite) songs!

Sunday I popped into the markets to check out some scrap stalls and then off to the beech for the afternoon.  Now that it's warming up - we have been taking the dogs to the beach for a walk every weekend.  A few more weeks and I might brave the water :)

Whale watching

Yesterday morning we were up early and headed to Hervey Bay to go on a whale watching tour!   We had been saying every year we should go, and this year we arranged it as our anniversary present to each other :)  We went on a 4 hour tour past Fraser Island into Platypus Bay to see the humpback whales.  The weather was perfect and we got to see a few pods of playful whales.  We were lucky enough to have a mother and calf swim next to our boat, then swim underneath, so we  got to have a close up look at them :)  The boat had a hydrophone so that we could hear the whales singing - it was magical!  The tour guide said that the whales don't always play / jump out of the water (breaching), but we were lucky to see a couple of whales breaching, tail slapping, etc.  We also saw a pod of dolphins playing next to the boat and a sea turtle swimming by.  The whole tour was amazing!  We got to take LOTS of photos -

FYI - We went whale watching with Tasman Venture and thoroughly recommend them!
