Thrifty Thursday

My aunty has been busy sorting out and cleaning her late mother's house recently and gave me a large box of Pryex, Tupperware, glass jars, etc that she thought I would like - how wonderful!!  I squealed out loud when I saw the turquoise snowflake dish & lid - another piece on my wish list!!

Everyday Moments

It's been pretty quiet around here lately :)  The next 4 weeks is going to be busy, busy, busy!  My bestie & kidlets are coming for a visit, a 30th birthday celebration, scrap nights & crotchet group catch ups, then off on our cruise!!

Adam, Skye & BP came for dinner one night - Uncle Craig & BP had fun playing "When the Saints come marching in" (the only song Uncle Craig can play LOL)

Strawberries are currently in abundance, so I brought a few punnets to cut up & freeze.  I like using frozen fruit instead of ice - makes smoothies less watery.

Stampin' Up goodies arrived and everyone was looking forward to getting their goodies so they could play :)

I dropped my blender on the floor and thought I had only broken the handle....after putting fruit in, then adding milk, I realised the bottom had cracked - milk went everywhere!  Oops :)  I was disappointed to throw it away - it was nearly 10 years and had been used for many, many, many cocktail nights and lots of smoothies.  It was fun to buy a new trendy blender with a more powerful motor - hopefully it lasts me 10 years like my old one :)

DIY Enamel Dots

After using the pony beads to make some DIY enamel dots I knew I wanted to make some smaller dots using perler beads.  I couldn't find any beads in the local shops, but luckily Linda found some online :)  She gave me a bag of beads on the weekend and after checking google I started melting them.  These turned perfectly - can't wait to use them!

I thought I would show you a comparison of the bead / dot sizes.

I scrapped this layout a few weeks ago, but realised I hadn't shared it yet - oops :)

My creative mojo seems to have disappeared lately :(  I have new photos to print and some new goodies to play with - so hopefully that will get the creative juices flowing again :)

Card & Matchbox

On Saturday night I had friends over for a Stampin' Up! party :)  It was a great night catching up everyone and creating some cute projects.  The lovely Bron arranged for us to create 2 fabulous projects - a card & OTP.

We made this card with some of the new products.

The next project was the matchbox / giftbox.  This was another great project using the envelop punch board :)

Another wonderful night crafting and catching up with friends :)  We have booked a craft night for November - can't wait!!

Things have been so busy lately and the year seems to be zooming by, that I realised I hadn't shared that we are heading off on a cruise NEXT month - eek!  That has come up so quickly!!  After we cancelled our cruise in May for my cataract surgery, we re-booked another cruise for this year.  We wanted to do the same cruise that we booked, but it wasn't available to sail out of Brisbane until next year.  After a bit of research, we decided to do the same cruise that sails out of Sydney instead.  That is very exciting - a new port and a new ship (P&O Pacific Jewel)!!  Also exciting is this will be my first plane trip - EEEKK!  I don't know how that's going to go - but Craig has been mentioning knocking me out with my seasickness medication LOL The itinerary for this cruise is - Sydney, Noumea, Mystery Island, Vila, Wala, Santo, Isle of Pines.
