Happy Easter

Clay was up early and ready to see what the bunny left him :) He had a basket of goodies - his favourites were the hot cross bun plushie and the flappy chick hat.  Then it eas time to hunt down the eggs the bunny had left around the house :)

We had a chilled morning at home and then spent the afternoon doing some gardening while Clay had a swim. 

Texture Painting

I've been watching texture painting videos on my FB feed and was excited to find this kit at Kmart. I will admit it has taken me nearly 5 months to actually try it LOL

It is not as simple as I hoped it would be - it took me at least 9 attempts to get it to this stage!

First coat of chalk paints - I was going for a neutral pallette, but once it was done it looked like Neapolitan ice cream LOL

I decided to go with a darker pink and love how it turned out :)

Next up on my to try list - texture painting flowers!

Easter Hat Parade

Yesterday Poppy and I headed to Clay's school to watch the Easter Hat Parade :)  Clay's class helped grade 1 decorate their hat and both classes walked  with their crafting buddy to show off their creations.

Once all the kid's had shown off their hats, they all did some dances and drew the raffle tickets.  Even though Clay looks unimpressed he told me he had a great time LOL

Thrifty Thursday

Sharing the goodies we got at the Lifeline Bookfest last weekend... books, a hat, some toys and games :)  The sheer number of books there was overwhelming and I didn't find anything for myself.  We were a little rushed, so maybe if I had more time ... I will know for next time :)

Model Train Expo

Craig and Clay went to a model train expo today.  Clay loved looking at all the displays and even got to drive one of the trains.  There were new displays from other clubs as well as boat and plane models. They spent a lovely afternoon tohether walking around looking at everything.
