Gold Coast Trip - Day 1 & 2

Day 1 - Thusday we headed down to the GC ready for Clay's orthopaedic appointment at the Children's Hospital.  It was a longer than usual trip with lots of slowing down for roadworks and even a 40min stop at roadworks outside of Gympie.  We grabbed some groceries for dinner and then chilled at Kristy's until she got home.  After dinner Kristy and I did a quick run to Spotlight for the 40% off sale ;)

Day 2 - Friday Clay had an MRI at 7am, so to make sure we weren't late due to commuter traffic we were up at 4.30am and on the road at 5am.  We arrived at the hospital after 6am and waited for his appointment. Craig went in with Clay to for the MRI and he did really well - only a little bit of wiggling and they put sandbags on his legs to keep him still LOL

We had a 2 hour wait till his orthopaedic appointment,  so we grabbed some morning tea and then wandered around having a look at the hospital (usually we are in waiting for an appointment then head straight out once we are done)  We visited the rooftop garden and then the kid's playroom.

When we got to Clay's appointment we were told he also needed an xray - so we headed back to imaging, then waited for the doctor. We got some good news - everything is looking great for Clay's spine & spinal cord and we are now on 9 month review!

Back to Kristy's for a a late lunch and nap :) Kristy and I had a late night making projects on the Cricut - so much fun!

Everyday Moments

The display at my gym :D

Having a play with new resin mold and dyes - so pretty!

We took Clay to the park to practise riding his bike - getting much better!  The 'big kid' had a ride too LOL

Spotted this gorgeous rainbow on the way to work one day.

Craig, Nanny and Clay went to the ANZAC parade -love this pic of Clay reading the program:)  afterwards we headed down to the beach to watch the FA18 do a fly -by.  We were going to head to the Burnett Heads parade, but it started raining.

Layouts

I had a clean up / sorted some of the mess in my scraproom and felt motivated to scrap! I am finding it is more productive to scrap at least 2 of the same theme layout while I have the papers and embelishments on my table - so I did Clay's school photos :)

I was still feeling motivated, so decided to start on tthe birthday pages.

Cricut Creations - Stickers

While we were on the GC Kristy showed me how to make stickers (print & cut)! For some reason it cut all the way through the sticker and backing paper, but they are still usable! They are a bit bigger than I usually use on a scrapbook page, so will need to be more aware of sizing next time.  Now I have a printer on my birthday list ;)

Thrifty Thursday

My friend M was having a declutter and Kristy spotted the 2x Babushka doll sets and grabbed them for me :) I've never seen a wolf set before and the red set is HUGE - love them both!

On Saturday morning Clay and I popped into 3x oppies we usually don't get to. We didn't find anything at the first shop :(  At the 2nd shop Clay found a bag of cars $6 and I found this extra large fabric drawstring bag for $2.  I'm going to use the bag in the camper for storing linen / dirty laundry.

At the last shop I found a butterfly shaped scarf hanger $2 and some cute sewing kits $1 each (I'm going to keep the dino set and give Bella the others).  Clay found a bag of tumbled rocks for his collection $1.

School Holidays- Week 2

Tuesday was a quiet day at home - Nanny wasn't feeling the best - playing with his new birthday toys, riding his scooter and chilling.  After dinner we made the magical terrarium he got for Easter - it's pretty cute :)

Wednesday they headed into town to see the free movie "Minions:The Rise of Gru".  Then they went to look through the art gallery.  Clay finally got to try bubble tea - it was too sweet and he didn't like it - so disappointing, as he was really excited about it.

Thursday they headed to the library to make a wooden coaster :) Then a sneaky lunch date with dad ;)

Friday they caught the bus and met Poppy at the beach :)  Fish and chips for lunch and then a paddle in water.

Saturday we were up early and popped into some op shops before heading to Bunnings for the kid's workshop. We headed over to Lindalee'sfor a karaoke night - lots of fun! Even Craig had a sing with Clay :)

Today we popped out to do the grocery shopping, then spent the day at home - tidying up and getting ready to head back to school.  Clay wanted to try out the science experiment kit he recieved for his birthday.  The experiments were very simple, so a quick google search and we found some more exciting ones - so much fun! We made the solar car kit Chris gave Clay. There was not enough sun to make it run fully this afternoon - so will try again tomorrow after school.

Easter Long Weekend - Day 3 & 4

Day 3 - Sunday morning an excited little boy came in to show us the goodies the bunny had left him :)

We spotted more bunny prints and an empty basket near the door,  so went on an egg hunt :) I do spy my Easter egg from the bunny in his basket - cheeky LOL

Kristy and Alyssa woke up and joined us to give out  Easter eggs / gifts :) Only one little egg eaten before breakfast  LOL

Kristy made breaky pizza (bacon and eggs on Turkish break - delicious!

We got dressed and headed to the shops for a quick look and then to Spotlight for supplies ;)

Us girls and Clay had a chilled afternoon at home while Craig headed to the Dragon VS Titans football game. Unfortunately his team lost, but he had a great afternoon at the footy!

Kristy went into Brisbane to pick up Bella & Connor from the airport to stay overnight, Alyssa stayed home to Cricut and Clay and I headed to the movies to see the long awaited Super Mario Bros movie - Clay was so excited :) It was actually a pretty good movie!

We got home and everyone was home and we had pizza for dinner followed by a late night of Cricut creations ;)

Day 4 - Today was a slow morning- Alyssa headed off at 8am for a family event,  the big kids slept in, we packed the car and Craig & Clay chilled while Kristy taught me how to make stickers on the Cricut.

We headed home just before lunch. The amount of traffic heading south was definitely more than the north bound traffic!
