Just chillaxing...

I went to the Midnight happy scraps at Creative Artz on Friday night. I had a fantastic night with Cassie & Donna - I haven't laughed like that in ages!! Thanks for a great night girls - I can't wait till the next one!!

I managed to get 2 LO finished this week. Craig was a bit surprised / horrified that I was scrapping about donuts! LOL It's not normally something I would scrap about, but the story behind the donuts had to be journalled.

Lots of relaxing this weekend which is just what I needed after a being sick all week. I had arranged to catch up with Kylie & Cathie on Saturday to finally have cuddles with Mitchell. Since I didn't want to pass on my germs, I rain-checked the visit till next weekend :o( I have been crocheting another blanket/rug - I'm about half way through. I'm getting a good head start on my presents ready for Christmas.

Swaps

I had a great day scrapping at Simply Crafty on Sunday. We had a naturals colour swap for this month - so I made these little birds.

I also managed to get my Scrap The Girls vintage swap finished.

Blanket #2

I actually started this blanket before my pink & chocolate blanket - but because I was unsure of what colour I should use for the border I wasn't motivated to finish it. I had considered, black, while, yellow and even red for the border, but nothing suited. I had a pile of squares done, but decided to start working on my other blanket until I worked out what constrast colour to use for the border. After a chat with mum about border colours, she suggested not to stitch a border around each individual square. Over the last couple of nights I crocheted the last 2 purple squares, stitched the blanket together and crocheted the border around it. I love how it turned out! This blanket is approx 1m x 1m - I didn't want a big blanket like the last one! LOL This is actually a Christmas present - I hope the person I made it for likes it...

I had great night last night - I went over to Donna's for a girls night. We had a few drinks, watched a movie, did lots of talking & laughing and I even taught her how to crochet!

A couple of cards...

For someone who claims to not be much of a card maker, I seem to be making a lot of them lately!! LOL These 2 cards were made using left over Pink Paisley papers I got from Creative Artz. I have one more card that I am still just adding the finishing touches to.

This is my White with 1 blue swap. I wanted to do something a little differnet - so I used crackle medium to give it a shabby chic look.

Due to lack of sponsors the site is having it's final challenge this month :o(

Beach Festival

Yesterday we packed up a picnic and headed to Mooore Park for the beach festival. My mum, Craig's mum and brother and our nephew Riley joined us. We spent a relaxing day wandering around looking at the kites and sand sculpture, checking out the stalls, and watching the entertainment.

Mum and I did start the day with some garage sales - she brought a camper trailer!! Very exciting - she has been looking for one for ages and this one is perfect! I'm excited because Craig & I will using it when we head off on holidays in a couple of months. Every holiday we seem to upgrade our camping equipment - definitely an improvement from our first trip where the tent we borrowed was not waterproof and we came back to the site to find our half inflated air-bed literally floating in ankle deep water! LOL

For those of you who are popping in to check for baby news on Cathie - I suggest to pop back in over the next 2 days....

Creative Artz

Donna has new stock in and I couldn't wait to have a play at the midnight crop last Friday night!! This LO is using the new Pink Paisley papers she has in.

I have made 2 cards with the leftovers. There is still a fair bit left, so I might make a few more cards or try scrapping some tags.

I also got the Cosmo Cricket "Early Bird" range - I'm going to use it to make a couple of OTP this weekend.

I also scrapped a LO with this month's challenge pack on Friday night. How hilarious is Cohan's face?!? Every time I got the camera out he would pull all these crazy faces, then run over and want to see the pictures. He's such a funny little boy!!

After being back home for a month, Elena is heading back to Darwin on Saturday for another 3 months - so we all went out to dinner last night. It was a great night - lots of chatting and laughing with good food and a few drinks!

My blanket...

I only had a few squares left, so I finished my blanket on the weekend. I love how it turned out! It is a bit bigger than I planned, but it will nice to snuggle under on cold nights.

I have been working on another blanket at the same time - so I will get motivated and finish that one too.

I finished this LO on Friday night at Creative Artz midnight crop.

Sunday we went to the PCYC markets - it was great to see all the different crafts. It's given me a few ideas for this year's homemade Christmas.

Lizards...

I found these 2 lizards sun baking in the park behind us. We get heaps of these bearded dragons around the place. Jedi hates them, so Craig often has to rescue them and put them in the park.

Tomorrow night is the midnight crop at Creative Artz - I'm looking forward to scrapping with the girls!

For those who have been popping in hoping to get some baby news...Cathie still hasn't had bub, but it won't be long though!

Yellow Swap

My White with 1 yellow swap arrived last week. I put my name down for this month's blue swap.

I also have put my name down for the vintage swap at Scrap-the-Girls. Plus I have the naturals swap at Simply Crafty - so I will be a very busy bee this month!

Roberto & Inga's wedding...

We had a fantastic time at Roberto & Inga's wedding on Saturday arvo. It was lovely ceremony held in the Botanical Gardens and the vows where very sentimental. Donna, Craig & I spent 2 hours having a few drinks & chatting at the RSL while waiting for the reception to start. The reception was at the RSL - the function room looked amazing - lots of chocolate & orange accents with cinnamon scented candles everywhere. It was a great reception - lots of chatting with friends, a lovely meal, speeches, cutting of the cake & dancing.

I think Craig & I scrubbed up pretty well. I loved my outfit - especially my dress!! As you can see I found a pair of black heels!! I did have some issues with sinking into the grass and getting stuck, but luckily didn't fall over or embarrass myself! LOL

Today I had a sleep in, then just pottered around the house doing a bit of cleaning, while Craig went into work to get ready for the new month. Katie & James are back in town for a couple of days getting some accessories added to their new car. We all enjoyed a delicious roast pork dinner at Mum's tonight.
