Road Trip to Murgon

Yesterday we went on a road trip to Murgon for a house-warming BBQ to celebrate Kristy and Bethany's new house. It was a nice 2.5hr drive out there --the land is very dry and ssadly there were lots of dead kangaroos and wallabies on the road.  There were also a LOT of them sitting on the side of the road, which is unusual as during the hot days they usually lay under a shady spot.  We saw 6 rural fire brigade trucks heading out to Ban Ban springs for a bush fire. 

We had a tour of the house, got to catch up with everyone, enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch and met Bethany's friends - a lovely and relaxed day :)

We spotted a reindeer farm on the drive back! We were concerned about having to detour due to bush fires/evacuations, but we had a straight run home.

Milbi Festival - Weaving Garden

The annual Milbi (sea turtle) Festival activities launched om Friday night.  Yesterday morning Clay and I headed to the art gallery to participate in the weaving garden session - to learn weaving.  I learnt about weaving different materials and plaited up some raffia - which I'm going to try and make into a basket. 

I also had a go at creating polymer Clay earrings.

Clay joined in the kid's activity - designing skateboard artwork where they had to draw out their design, then put it on the skateboard deck - he loved it! 

We are looking forward to more activities over the next week!

World Festival of Magic

Clay was lucky to recieve tickets to the magic show again this year, so we invited Tabs & Torrie to join us Thursday :) Torrie had never seen a magic show and both kids had a ball!! Clay was desperate to be picked as an assistant,  but unfortunately not this time.  The kids got to meet the magicians after the show.  Everyone had a wonderful time at the show and we headed out to grab some dinner afterwards - a fabulous night!

Girls Weekend - Day 3 & 4

Day 3

We headed Westfields for pedicures (a first for both Kristy and myself) - it was wonderful!!

After our pedicures we headed to Ikea for lunch and to shop up a storm, then onto the Hyperdome for more shopping - we shopped until Daiso kicked us out to close LOL

Dinner then apple pie spring rolls with caramel sauce (from Costco) and custard for dessert before one last movie "Happiness for Beginners".

After we dropped Bec off at the train station Kristy and I popped into Westfields for a bit more shopping and then to Costco to grab some stuff and have lunch.  Back home to grab my bags and then it was my turn to be dropped off at the train station.

I had a delcious roast pork dinner, chatted to lovely lady next to me and binge watched some episodes of "Nancy Drew" - a lovely way to wind down after a busy and wonderful weekend with my girl squad :)
