I recently participated in an embellishment swap with a scrapping FB page. I miss creating embellishment swaps, so when a travel theme swap came up I jumped at the chance :) Due to being short on time I decided to keep it simple with a few different die cuts - cardstock and cork, a pocket and a simple inchie. Hope everyone likes them and can't wait to see what everyone else has created :)

Today Helen from Lorna Blue Studio demonstrated how to create mixed media backgrounds, which we made into cards. She showed how to create the base, than add layers with stencils and paints. I learnt lots of great tips and will definately create more mixed media backgrounds.

After many, many, many long months I finally got to spend the morning op shopping with mum & Clay!! We visited 3 of our fave shops - we were looking for some clothes for my sister to take on her cruise, but I got to have a look for me too ;)
Of course Clay got spoiled :)
Little People play set $2 - he LOVES this!
Basket of play food $1 - now he finally has some food for his kitchen :)
Book & CD $4, DVD $3, sandwhich cutter 50c and scrapbook title $1
I manged to score some clothes for myself too!
Mum popped into a garage sale before she picked us up - they had $5 fill a bag of clothes. She managed to find this top BNWT $69 to put in the bag for me! Bargain!!!
Have you been op shopping lately? What have you found?!?

All these long weekends recently have been a good chance to get motivated to do some sewing :) I got some cute dinosaur fabric remnants from mum - leftover from the fabric teepees that she made Cohan & Jaxson for Christmas.
Both pouches have the same fabric on the back, but are lined with a contrasting fabric.
The blue dinosaur pouch is for Clay's crayons in his backpack and I'll put the other one aside for Cohan's birthday. I have enough fabric to make one more, so that will be for Jaxson :)

Yesterday afternoon we headed to Woodgate for Country at the Beach 2017. We took Clay last year and all really enjoyed it, so we were looking forward to it again this year. Mum joined us this time, the weather was lovely and the entertainment was awesome!! We got there at 11am to get a spot and people watch till it kicked off at 12pm, The main act - Travis Collins - wasn't on till last (around 7pm), but we didn't want to stay there that long.
After we left, we decided to go for a drive around Woodgate for a look. Mum mentioned she had found a gorgeous spot next to the river - we are going to head back for a picnic, fishing and swim when it warms up again :
