Card

I had a play with a new die set today.  I made this card for Adam's 30th birthday.

I like this die and have so many ideas on what I can create - I've started making a pirate theme one.

Everyday Moments

I got mum to do some die cutting for me one day we were in the scraproom :)

Craig brought me cupcakes on my birthday  - Clay was VERY excited about the cakes and the candles LOL  He sang "Happy Birthday" and helped blow out the candles.

We finally went to lunch at Lonestar - I don't know who was more excited...Craig or Clay!! LOL  The atmosphere was great and meals were delicious  - we are going to go back for dinner one night.

Sonya took Brodie and Clay out to see Nanny's new horse Lacoda.

We took Clay to a kid's DIY workshop at Bunnings last weekend - it was mosiac class.  He had to decorate a terracotta saucer - he got bored about 1/4 the way through, so I had to finish it :)

Card

A card I finished recently- I started the base at the last card camp and then coloured the Harry Potter characters (Kristy's stamp set) later.  I added some glossy accents to HP glasses- a cute finishing touch!

Donuts

Last night on FB someone posted a recipe for Nutella stuffed donuts cooked in a pie maker.  I liked the idea so we gave them a go, but used strawberry jam.  Craig and Clay both helped me make them and they turned out really well and were very delicious!!  I would definitely make them again :)

1 cup self raising flour
1 cup caster sugar
1 ts ground cinnamon
3/4 cup milk
2 eggs
Dash of vanilla essence
2 tbs vegetable oil
60g melted butter
Nutella / jam
Extra melted butter

1. In a bowl mix 1/2 cup caster sugar and cinnamon for coating.
2. In a new bowl mix SR flour, melted butter and remaining sugar.
3. In a jug mix milk, eggs, vanilla and oil.
4. Pour mixture into flour mix and whisk until combined.
5. Heat pie maker, spoon in mixture till just velow 3/4 full.
6. Add a dollop of jam to the centre of each one.
7. Cook for 8-10 mins.  Fully cooked when springs back.
8. Brush with melted butter and toss through sugar and cinnamon mixture.

Everyday Moments

Friday's are slow and relaxed at our house :)

Clay helped Ma Ma bake an orange jelly tart - delicious!

Mum (mainly) and I cleaned and sorted our back shed recently.  I haven't been down there for over 12 months so it was well overdue for a tidy up!!

Ive noticed in the last few months that my eyes have been blurred, I was concerned so booked in to see my opthamologist.  She explained it was "hazing" and is a common side effect of cataract surgery and could be easily fixed with laser surgery.  I had my first lot done on my left eye last week - it took less than 20 minutes 15 minutes for the dilating drop to work and less than 1 minute for the laser sork.  It was quick and painless!  I'm booked in to have my right eye done next week.

I redeemed my Flybuy points and stocked up on some more new makeup.

Gift Card Holders

Years ago I made my mum a gift card holder - she loved it so much and used it constantly to hold money.  It's gotten a bit ratty looking and ahe asked me to make her a new one.  Today we headed down to my scraproom so I could make it.  I got her to pick the pattern paper and cardstock (that took longer than making the actual card LOL).  Here's her holder -

After I finished making hers, she asked me to make one for her friend, so she choose the papers again and I made this one for Trish.

Dinosaur Day

Yesterday we had a public holiday for show day so we took Clay to the community kindy Under 8's Dinosaur Day.  He had a wonderful time - digging for bones, painting, playing in the playground, chipping at dinosaurs frozen in giant coloured blocks of ice and othwr activities they had set up.  Clay was having such a wonderful time that it's no surprise that he wasn't too happy when it was time to go LOL  I can't wait till our next community activity day.
