Layouts

I seem to have found my scrapping mojo lately - I've managed to scrap 4 layouts in the last 2 weeks - yay!!! I've only just photographed them - between the rainy / overcast weather and not getting home from work till the afternoon I haven't had the best natural lighting for photos till this week! I scrapped the first 2 LO's at Simply Crafty a few weeks ago

I scrapped the other 2 LO's at a midnight crop last Friday night.

March swaps - embellishments

This month's embellishment swap at Simply Crafty was "calendars". There seemed to be some confusion / uncertainty about this swap - so only 4 people participated, but we still ended up with fabulous embellishments that I can't wait to use on my cards / LO! My swap is the red embossed / kraft calender on the bottom left.

March swaps - Cards

This month's card swap theme at Simply Crafty was 'boys cards'. I'm sure I'm not the only one who struggles to make boy cards - so it was great to add 5 fabulous cards to my stash!!

Amanda's card

Tanya's card

Creative friends

I am very lucky to have creative friends in my life - my wonderful friend Cassie made me this gorgeous cupcake stand! What a clever idea to use thrfted pieces of crockery and glassware!!

Think I will have to arrange an afternoon tea so I can use it :)

The weekend

I had a busy and fun filled weekend :) I went to a midnight crop at my LSS with Cathie and Amanda on Friday night - I got 2 LO's scrapped (will share pics soon). I had a great night and I'm going to go to a crop every month!

Then we were up early Saturday morning to spend the day with Cohan :) We took him to the park / zoo - he had lots of fun looking at the animals, chasing the birds, playing in the playground and going for a walk. We took him for ice cream and lunch, then back home to snuggle on the lounge and watch a movie.

Mum got home from her cruise to Vanuatu on Saturday - so we popped over there to hear all about her holiday!

Yellow & grey card

I have been seeing a lot of gorgeous yellow and grey cards online lately. After I brought a 12x12 paper pack with some gorgeous yellow pattern papers - I was inspired to make this card. I love how this card turned out - will be making a few more with different colour combos and pattern papers!!

ETA - Linda asked me what papers I used to make this card...

Yellow pattern papers are from this paper packs -

And the grey pattern paper is from Kaiser "Rewind" collection.

Reading

Just sharing a few more books I have read recently...

I picked this book up at a discount book shop and honestly was not sure if I would enjoy it or not. It was a great story - set in the 70's British punk rock era and the 1990's. It tells the story past / present each chapter - I'm glad it brought it!

Another discount book and a great suspense story, with a twist at the end you didn't see coming!! It's book 1 of a series and even though I really enjoyed the book, I don't think I will look for the rest of books.

And yet a third book from the same bookstore - this was a pretty good short story.

Beaded creations

I forgot to share pics of these gorgeous beaded goodies! I went to a bead party at Diane's (Cathie's mum) a few weekends ago. Diane's lovely friend Elaine makes a variety of beaded items and set up her stock for us to look through and buy. I brought a few lovely things - this crocheted mug / glass cover (great for when you are having a drink outside and what to keep bugs out of your drink!). I've seen a few variations of this idea around blog-land and think I will have a go at creating some!

A beaded bookmark - what a great idea!! I have a stash of beautiful glass beads - might be time to dust them off and finally use them for this idea!!

I brought this bracelet for one of my niece's birthdays - it would have been nice to be able to get 2 horse themed bracelets, so the girls don't fight over it, but unfortunately Elaine only had one in stock :(

Elaine lives on the Sunshine Coast QLD - if you are interested in any of her gorgeous beaded creations let me know and I will pass on her email address :)

We have booked our holiday!!!

After LOTS of discussion and some research - we have finally picked our holiday destination.....FIJI!!

We are doing another P&O cruise (they are very addictive LOL) on the same boat - Pacific Dawn. It's 12 nights to Mystery Island, Vila, Lifou, Port Danarau and Suva - sailing in October!!

Boy card swap

I spent a lovely day scrapping / cardmaking with Tanya on Saturday. I got my cards finished for this month's card swap at Simply Crafty - "boy's birthday" cards. This card uses a lot of similar elements (stamp, die cuts, embossing folder) to the boy card swap I did last year, but I think they are perfect for boy cards!!

Ready for some cooking...

I popped into Aldi (supermarket) on Thursday - just to buy a cake container that was on special and walked out with some cute things to do some cooking :) I am such an impulse buyer! LOL I'm going to pop them into the cupboard for Easter - hoping to do some cooking with Cohan. I haven't done any cooking since the Christmas cooking last year - so looking forward to it!!

I did manage to get my cake container - which I'm super excited about!! I have a few Tupperware / plastic cake tins, but they aren't high enough. This one is perfect and even better has handles, which will make it easy to carry my cakes / goodies to parties :)

I also brought another cookbook - I have a slight addiction to cookbooks, especially Women's Weekly ones!! I think I like looking through the recipes and drooling over the pictures, more than cooking! LOL

Elmo

After Elvis (my Siamese Fighter fish) died last year, I wasn't going to get another fish. I was surprised when Craig brought another fish home last month - his work colleague was moving interstate and her fish needed a new home, so Elmo and his tank came to live with us :) I forgot how much I enjoy having a fish swimming around in his tank - very relaxing :)
