Making pasta sauce

Mum gave me a container of  home grown tomatoes and Diane gave me some capsicum  - so I decided to roast them and make my own pasta sauce.  I roughly chopped the tomatoes, capsicum, garlic and rosemary ( I realised afterwards i should have also added some onions - oops).

I put the vegetables in a dish with some garlic oil and slow roasted till the were soft.

Once they cooled I put them in the food processor with a tin of whole tomoatoes, some minced garlic and a splash of red\ wine.

I cooked pasta for dinner and the sauce was delicious :)

Layouts

I got 3 layouts scrapped over the weekend - thank you to Tanya for the company on Friday :)  I used some old \and some very recent (last week! LOL) photos and a combination of new and old and products.  I loved the patchwork chevron design by Paige Evans and used that as my inspiration for my first layout.

A messy layout and some stamping  for Cohan's egg decorating photos :)

I had these papers and photo packed in a spare kit for retreat - so glad I got it scrapped :)

Happy Easter

I thought I would share pics of my Easter decorations :)  Usually I don't decorate for Easter, but since I've found so many lovely bunnies / Easter themed treasures while op shopping - I thought I would display them.  I think they look very cheerful and cute!

I hope everyone enjoyed their long, long weekend :)  Friday Tanya and I had a scrapdate - lots of scrapping, chatting and a delicious lunch :)  Saturday was a quick trip to Bunnings to grab some things to do a few jobs around the house.  Craig brought me this Venus fly trap :)  I was so excited - I've been looking for one for ages!!!

Sunday we went to dinner at mum's  - so much fun playing the the kids and spending time with family!  Cohan and mum had made some marshmallows and marsjmallow biscuits and he was so exctied to give me a box of them to take home  - so cute :)  Today we spent the day doing some DIY around the house.

Play Date

I had an impromtu play date with Cohan yesterday - he decided he wanted to "just chill with Aunty" LOL  He came over and we played with the lego

Then I remembered I had some egg decorating kits that mum picked up in the post-sales last year - so we went down to my scraproom and painted and decorated  some eggs.

Cohan decorated both of these eggs all by himself :)

While we waited for the paint & glue to dry, we headed  upstairs to have fun with the play-doh and the new play-doh tools I got op shopping.

After that we played many, many, many games of Hungry Dinos  - lots of fun and we can't wait for our next play date :)

Card

A special birthday deserves a special birthday card.  Jaxson is a huge Ra Ra the Noisy Lion fan.  I had no idea who or what that was - so after a google search I knew I wanted to make a punch art card.  I went through my punches and found I had exactly what I needed, so started playing around.  I am so happy with how the punch art and card turned out and Jaxson seemed pretty excited to see Ra Ra :)

Jaxson turns 1

On Sunday we headed to the beadch to celebrate Jaxson's first birthday.  It was a beautiful sunny day - so the kids played on the beach collecting shells and the adults sat on the grass chatting and catching up.

The cheeky  birthday boy :)

Mum made the very cute cake!

Cards

I brought a magazine recently with steampunk themed stamp set and couldn't wait to make some cards :)  I really liked a card sample in the magazine and decided to CASE it - I even managed to find similar patterned paper to use for the paper piecing.

I decided to make aa female version of the card :)

Layouts

This LO has been sitting on my scrap table for weeks - moving things around the page, adding / removing things, etc.  Don't you hate that?!? LOL

I started the next 2 LO at Simply Crafty on Sunday - it was nice to sit down yesterday and finish them :)

I loved the mood board for Sassy Scrapper's April challenge and was inspired to join in :)

Scraproom Storage

I have been slowly getting my scraproom unpacked and creating some new storage / organisation ideas.  The Stampin' Up party I had a few weeks ago was a good deadline to motivate me into getting it sorted and finished.  I thought I would share some of the projects I have been painting and creating.

First up is this shadow/ display box I found at an op shop a few years ago, and then put in the cupboard with my other projects LOL

I removed the decorative top and sanded down the rough edges.  Then I used putty to fill in the gouges I made removing the top.

After that dried I gave it  a few coats of paint.

Now I just need to sort my buttons / embellishments out and put them in it :

Thrifty Thursday

As promised, I'm back sharing the 2rest of my op shop finds from a few weeks ago!

Metal buckets 50c each and pink/cream tin 50c for the scrap room.  I also brought the blue bucket $1 for my scrap room, but decided to  use it for storage in the laundry cupboard - perfect size for boxes of screws & hooks, masking tape and other bits & pieces.

Metal candle holders 20c each - will give these a coat of paint and use them to decorate the front verandah.

Toys $2 each for when Jaxson visits :)

Motar & pestle $2, 2x pink striped bowls 50c each for the dog's (fancy! LOL) and a little Fire King heat proff jug $1.

Polka dot Sheridan single bed sheet $3.  This is in brand new condition - I needed a single sheet, because every time I go to retreat I have to take a queen size sheet and fold it in half LOL
