Anzac Day

Craig & Clay were excited to head off to Clay's first ANZAC parade (I wasn't feeling well, so decided to stay at home and avoid the crowds).  They picked up Nanny on the way and she gave him a flag to wave :)

Even though he's not a fan of crowds, Clay did enjoy himself :)  The drum band and the aeroplane frightened him and made him cry, but he calmed down very quickly.

Road Trip to Hervey Bay

Yesterday Craig and I both had the day off, so decided to go on a road trip.  We had planned on spending the day enjoying the beach at Agnes Water, but woke to dark clouds and a rainy day weather forecast :(  We decided to go to Hervey Bay instead - it is closer and wouldn't worry us if we had to spend some time indoors avoiding any light showers.  Clay slept most of the way - woo hoo ;)  When we arrived we found a park and let Clay run around and stretch his legs a bit.

After a quick play, we went in search of some lunch and decided on the Boat Club.  We enjoyed a delicious lunch - check out our gorgeous view!!  They also had some amazing "Finding Nemo" fish tanks which we enjoyed looking at.

From the Boat Club we headed to the Botanic Gardens - it was lovely to wander through the gardens and we found a beautiful Japanese Garden.

On the way home we stopped at the iconic whale and snapped a family photo :)

It was a wonderful day out and we were lucky that there was no rain!

A Morning at the Botanic Gardens

We spend a relaxed morning wandering around and exploring one of our fave spots - the Botanic Gardens.  First up was feeding bread to the ducks and the giant eels!

Then for a walk around the lake areas to see what we could spy...

Jaxson's 3rd Birthday

Today we headed to the park to celebrate Jaxson's 3rd birthday with family and friends.  The kids run around the playground, while the adults sat & chatted

Cute cousins :)

Then it was time for cake :)  My mum made a chocolate crackle pinata cake - chocolate crackle bowl shape cake with toys and lollies in the centre.

Only thing was we forgot a knife and the cake was pretty solid - so we smashed at it with a sauce bottle and a teaspoon LOL  We ended up finally cracking the cake open and the kids grabbed their treats :)

Playdate with the Cuzzies

Mum, Cohan and Jaxson popped over for a playdate today.  We brought some of Clay's new birthday presents downstairs to play with.  The bubble machine was awesome!!  So much better then the sticky mess of using a bubble wand, plus LOTS more bubbles!  We used the whole bottle of bubble mix and the boys had a ball!!

Lots of splashing in the water table :)

The boys then found the props box from the party, which resulted in hilarious dress ups :)

Old McDonald's Farm

After a hectic day yesterday celebrating Clay's birthday, we decided to have a quieter day with family.  We headed to the zoo/park to see the baby animals at Old McDonald's Farm (they are only there during school holidays).  Clay had no fear of the animals - getting amongst them all and patting them :)

After petting the animals we headed to the park for a play and to see the animals in the zoo.  On the way Clay decided it would be fun to chase the birds!

Such a lovely day - we will definately go and see the baby animals next school holidays.

Clay's 1st Birthday - Part 2

After lunch it was time to bring out the cake & cupcakes (that Craig made - I just put the sprinkles on the cake - there were sprinkles EVERYWHERE in the kitchen LOL).

After cake it was time to open some more presents!  Clay was spoiled with lots of lovely well wishes, thoughtful gifts and cards.

More bouncing on the jumping castle for the bigger kids and playing in the sandpit for the little ones.

Time to have a play with the photo booth and dress ups :)

A BIG thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate and for all the well wishes from those who couldn't make it xo
