Watercolour Class - Sea Turtle

Yesterday morning I decided at the last minute to do the water colour class I had seen on The Friday Gallery FB page.  I sketched the turtle from the picture / drawing they had as an example (which turned out a lot better than I expected) and got my supplies ready to go.

It was a quick moving class, with lots of examples and techniques explained.

The background wasn't exactly how the painter demonstrated and my salt sprinkled on the paint didn't work well, but I like it :)

The finished product!  I LOVE it and am super proud of it!

When I was in Kmart I grabbed a frame so that I could frame it and hang it on the wall.  I think it looks even better framed!  Now to decide where to hang it.  I am thinking about creating a gallery wall in my scraproom :)

Drawing Class - Sunflower

Last night I did another online drawing class with Life With Paint. This time we drew a sunflower.  I learnt a few new techniques and am happy with my sketch.  I think I was a bit too heavy with the shading on the leaves.  I'm looking forward to next week's class  - a cactus drawing :)

Road Trip

Yesterday was a gazetted public holiday for the local show,  so we decided to go for a drive / mini adventure.  Restrictions have been lifted to travelling up to go 150km, so we decided to head to Agnes Water for the day.

When we arrived Clay was so excited to see the park was open, so we let him have a play :)  Then we crossed a stream and headed to the beach for a look.

After we found somewhere to buy lunch, we headed up the road a bit to Seventeen Seventy and had lunch in another park.  After lunch we walked along the boardwalk enjoying the lovely weather and views.

We stopped at the Captain Cook memorial for a look  then headed off to find the butterfly walk.

We couldn't find the butterfly walk, so went for a walk along the clifftops.

Craig worked out where the walk was, but it was getting to late in the day, so we headed home and have made a plan to come back another day :)

Thrifty Thursday

Some of my local oppies have re-opened! Yahoo!  It was raining on the weekend so no paddling for us, instead I popped into 3x oppies looking for some jeans and jumpers to keep me warm from this cold snap we are having!  It seems LOTS of other people were just as excited, because the oppies were full of shoppers!

Sunset Picnics

Today after Craig finished work, we got fish and chips and headed to the Hummock for a picnic and to enjoy the sunset.  It was a bit chilly, so after dinner we snapped some pcs and headed home LOL
