Woodburning Cheese Boards

Last night Susanne and Tab came over for a crafting night, so I could show them how to make woodburnt cheeseboard.  I set up a craft activity for the kids and they kept themselves entertained with crafts, snacking and playing together.

I cut the designs out of stencil vinyl and everyone weeded their design.  Then we spread torch paste over the stencils and waited approx 10mins.  The then peeled the stencils off and used a heat gun to heat / burn the paste.  Once that eas done we gave the boards 3 coats of food safe wax.  Susanne and Tab's were very proud of their creations and there is talk about another crafting night to cricut on bags :)

Tab's board

I loved the design Susanne picked, so made the same one :)

This afternoon I went down and made this board as a Christmas gift for Clay's teacher.

Variety Club Children's Christmas Party

We were up at 4.30am this morning so Clay and I could catch a bus to Brisbane for the Variety Club Children's Christmas Party at 6am! The Variety Club arranged buses for the Wide Bay area - we had 4 families on our bus and picked up another family in Gympie. Clay was super excited to find that a friend frim his class was going too :)

The party was unbelievable - the number of people was insane! It was held at the Brisbane Convention Centre and was packed with families, displays and volunteers!  We walked around looking at all the displays / activities - snapping pics along the way :)

Z's mum took the boys through the gift line up while I lined up for fairy floss.  The boys told the volunteers their name and age and the put their gifts in a bag for them - their age group got a Lego technics set, karaoke microphone and a toy dog- very spoilt!

After fairy floss we went to get cupcakes / cookies.

The police and ambulance services had multiple displays set up, there were lots of cos-play people and there was a stage that had constant entertainment - animal talks, singing, magic, etc.  There were 2 bouncy areas and 2 rides - so we lined up so the kids could have a go on everything. There was also a few places for food / snacks - sausages on bread, ice blocks, chips, coffee and bottles of cold water was being handed out the whole time.

It wouldn't be a Christmas party without the main man in red - Santa!!!

We headed back to the bus for our trip home - arriving home after 7pm.  It was a very long and full on day, but we had an amazing time and hope Clay gets invited again :)
