Layouts

I managed to scrap a few more layouts :)  The first LO is one I competed a few weeks ago, but packed up before I photographed it.  My scrap room is still packed away in boxes, but I still had some supplies left out, so went down to my new room, set up the table, put on some DVD's and saw the new year in scrapping :) The 2nd LO was an unfinished one I completed tonight as well as the new True Love LO.

Post Christmas sales

I avoided the Boxing Day sales - too crazy for me - but did head out today and managed to get some great bargains!  The first lot of goodies was 75% off and the nutcrackers were $3.50 each (50% off).

ETA  6/1/2014 - A few more post - Christmas purchases :)  The red Santa / gnome reminds me of the cute gnomes that Dee paints - so cute!

Socialising

I love the silly season - it's a great chance to catch up with friends and family :)  Our friend Evan is in town, so he popped over to have a look at our new house and have a swim.  Then we headed off to mum's to have a BBQ with the extended family - aunts, uncles and cousins - lots of catching up, laughing and a few too many drinks ;)

Merry Christmas

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas day :)  Craig and I enjoyed a very relaxed day - pottering around the house in the morning, then off to a traditional roast lunch with Crag's family.  Lots of catching up, a few drinks and yummy food.   our nieces and nephews showed us all their new toys and watched everyone have a go on the buggy (I wasn't silly enough to try that LOL).

Back home for a swim and a rest, then off to mum's to see my family.  James cooked a roast dinner, but we were still full from lunch, so just spent time catching up with everyone.  It was Jaxson's first Christmas - very exciting :)

Gingerbread house

I brought this gingerbread house kit a few weeks ago and thought it would be the perfect distraction from all the unpacking and sorting :)  It was very simple to create - all the pieces were already cooked and it came with the decorations - all I had to do was ice it together and add the decorations.

Christmas decorations

With all the craziness of moving and unpacking I made the decision not to decorate this year.  I was pretty disappointed as Christmas is my absolute favourite time of the year and I make a big deal - decorations, lights, cooking, etc.  I did buy a few new decorations this year and popped them in the lounge room to make it a little "Christmassy".  

I brought the train set in the post-Christmas sales last year and really wanted to set it up, but really didn't have the room with all the boxes.

The nativity scene was also a post-Christmas purchase.

Our new house!!!

I am so excited to finally share that Craig and I have purchased our first house!!! It settled today and we have picked the keys up :) We move tomorrow - so things may be al little quiet around here- but I will be back to share more pics soon :)

Ornament cards

I I brought a new set of Christmas dies and couldn't wait to have a play with them at Simply Crafty.  I used some new glitter paper for the first one and adhered them to the card.

For the 2nd card I put pattern paper behind the cut outs.

Secret Santa gift

I spent a lovely day catching up with friends at Simply Crafty yesterday.  I got a few Christmas cards made in between all the socialising - LOL.  We celebrated Christmas with a delicious lunch and swapped Secret Santa gifts.  I received this gorgeous covered journal / book and a pencil holder.  I LOVE handmade gifts and this one is perfect for me - I love the denim / pink colour combo and I adore the pencil holder - I'm actually going to use it to store my crochet hooks :)

Garage sale finds

I wanted to share the amazing Christmas decorations that mum got for $2 at a garage sale yesterday!!  Lots of vintage ornaments, tinsel, baubles, etc - so many gorgeous goodies!!  There were in various boxes / bags - we had a wonderful time sorting through it all :)  Mum was generous and shared with my sister and I too

She did share these sweet birds though - I got the blue and green one :)

It was a 2 day sale - so we popped back over there this morning so I could have a look too.  I found these cute owl ornaments for 20c each.  A figurine, sweet bell, kitschy pin cushion and a glass Avon jar - LOVE them!!

I finally managed to spend the morning op shopping on Tuesday with Craig's mum - woo hoo!  Lots of random goodies - ust the way I like it :)

Die cut Christmas tree card

Another quick and easy card today :)  I got these cute trees in a Xmas themed embellishment swap - I replaced the silver star with a gold star and added some different coloured pearls to "dress" it up a bit .

Reindeer Christams cards

I had a free day today, so spent a few hours in my scraproom making Christmas cards - it was so nice to finally find my mojo to get cards made :)  I managed to get 5 different designs made and will share them over the next few days :)

First up are these cute reindeer cards - using a new die I brought this year.

Vignette

I've seen a few monogram vignettes on different blogs and thought they were really cute decorating idea.   While I was in Typo I saw all the letter H on sale for $2 each and popped them into my shopping basket :)    I also thought the little globe was a perfect addition to this display so it went into the basket too ;)  The blue H was actually black and I was indecisive about buying it - I wasn't too keen on the dark colour, but then I remembered I had some blue spray paint.  A few coats of paint and it looks great!

Where's Wally? Pub Crawl

Saturday night Craig and I got dressed in our Wally costume and headed out on a pub crawl to celebrate my friend Julie's birthday.  It was so much fun seeing all the "Wallys"!

We kicked off with nibbles and jello shots at Julie's then off to the first of many pubs :)  There were challenges and more drinking at each pub - lots of fun and laughs.
