I've seen a few versions of this sweet baby card around the www and thought it would be a great card to add to my stash.

Sponged Background card
I thought these stamps would be a perfect chance to try a sunset background. I did try a brayering technique, but it didn't work too well. Next I tried a sponging background, it is a bit patchy though.

Layouts
All this rainy weather is perfect for scrapping :) I've finished a couple of layouts that I started a Simply Crafty a few weeks ago and a few other layouts that were sitting on my desk.

Steamed Pork Buns
We had some leftover roast pork and wanted to try something different, so decided to make steamed pork buns (like the ones we ate when we were in Melbourne). I found a recipe on Taste
- easy to make and tasted delicious! As usual, I made some changes to the recipe - I put the meat in the food processor and added onions and some garlic. They don't look neat and tidy like the restaurant, but the dough was fluffy. We are definitely going to cook them again!

May card & embellishment swap
This month's card swap theme at Simply Crafty was "Thinking of You / Get Well". Only 2 of us participated this month, but still great to add some more cards to my stash :)

Ripple Blanket Week 4
It's getting a lot cooler at night, so it's nice to have the blanket keeping my lap warm while I crochet.

Wooden bead jewellry
I found these gorgeous decorated / painted wooden beads at one of the dollar shops and knew I had to make a necklace with them. I wasn't sure what style I wanted to make it- I knew a necklace full of beads would be too much. I googled some ideas and decided to keep it simple - some beads of different sizes and patterns threaded on round leather cord.
After I made the necklace I decided to make a matching bracelet. I kept this design simple too - just threaded the beads onto elestic jewellry cord.
I love how the necklace and bracelet turned out and am glad that I have enough supplies leftover to make a few more sets as gifts :)

Washi tape and wooden button card
I realised I forgot to share some cards I made last week. I saw this card on Lucy's blog and was inspired to make some cards using washi tape instead of ribbon :) As usual, while I had the supplies out I decided to make another 2 cards in different colour combos to add to my stash.

A rodeo, meeting Jaxson and Mother's Day!
We have had such an busy, fun filled weekend :) Friday night my brother Tim came down to compete in the Agrotrend rodeo, so Kate, James, Craig and I went out to watch him. Unfortunately Tim had to go back to Blackwater for work straight after the rodeo, but we still got to spend some time catching up with him. Tim, Kirsty and the girls are heading down for the show in a few weeks - so we will get to spend a couple of days with all of them then.
Craig and I finally got to meet the newest member of our family...baby Jaxson :) There was LOTS of snuggling with that sweet baby boy, especially from Craig!

Today we celebrated Mother's Day with a delicous brunch at my mum's house, with both my mum and Craig's mum. Craig, Diane and I headed back to mum's for dinner with family that night. I made 2 desserts - a Chocolate Hot Cross Bun and Butter Pudding and a Butterscotch Self Saucing Pudding. Lots more chatting with everyone and snuggling with Jaxson and Cohan.

Men's beanie
I have a list of projects that I am slowly working through this year :) On that list is a beanie for my Pop. I used this pattern - it's very simple, I crocheted this up while I was watching a movie. I thought it was a bit short, so I added on a few extra rows. I am working on a few crochet projects in between my ripple blanket, so I don't get bored LOL

Magnolia Ink card
I got this cute stamp free with the Magnolia Ink magazine a few months ago, but hadn't gotten around to buying some EZ mount until this week LOL Of course I had to ink it up once it was ready to go :) I'm still learning / trying out blending techniques, so my colouring is not perfect (don;t look to closely LOL). i think this is a cute little card - perfect for birthday / thinking of you / miss you.
