I created 2 more pocket letters recently :) I'm starting to get a bit more detailed with my creations and I am very happy how they turned out - hope my swap partners like them!
We just spent a wonderful 3 days in Tin Can Bay - enjoying our first family holiday :)
View from our cabin
Tin Can Bay
The reason for our trip - feeding the Humpback dolphins!! (My wedding anniversary gift) This has been on my bucket list for ages - I was so excited :) It's so well organised - you can spend an hour on the beach / in the water watching the dolphins, then at 8am you can hand feed them.
Dolphin nibbling on Clay's feet! Too sweet :)
We also took a drive to the surrounding areas - Cooloola Cover & Rainbow Beach
We were playing with Clay and his new toy - a puppet - which Craig has pretending to bite and attack Clay.
Me: Instead of attacking him, shouldn't the puppet talk and teach him educational things like "Don't stick your fingers in power points"?
Craig & puppet: Don't eat sand at the beach, because when you poop it's like sandpaper coming out!
Me: Awesome parenting!
Sharing some of the layouts I created at the scrapbook retreat on the weekend! I was excited to try a few new techniques / styles and was really happy with the layouts :)
Mum has been decorating her guest room recently and asked me to create some artwork to fit into a frame for the wall. Originally she was going to create it, but decided she would rather play with Clay while I made it for her ;) She brought over a pillowcase from the new quilt set for the room to use as inspiration.
I went through my scrap stash and found a variety of plain and patterned papers to make colours / patterns, then found a few matching embellishments. Mum chose which papers & embellishments she wanted in the frame and we chatted about what sort of look she wanted me to create - patchwork collage. I started cutting and laying papers down on the cardboard backing - just seeing how things looked. Mum decided she wanted some more blue, but I didn't have anymore matching pattern paper, so we decided to emboss some plain cardstock to add texture. Once mum was happy with the plaement - I started slowly adhering everything down. As usual, once you start to move things it changes the original layout, but mum was very happy with the end result :)
We are really taking advantage of the amazing weather lately with another lazy Sunday spent at the beach - this time Ma Ma and the cousins joined us :)
We are sitting at the dinner table and Clay is talking and singing, so I decide to "translate" for him...
Me: Let me sing you the song of my people.
Craig raises an eyebrow...
Me: It's a song of love and loss.
Craig gets that 'his should be interesting' look
Me singing: On top of spaghetti...
Craig shakes his head and mumbles something about "mummy has finally lost her marbles" :)
There is no doubt that Clay looks like me, but I found this baby picture of me the other day and was amazed just how much of a "mini me" he actually is!!
Eating a variety of fruits & veges including corn, broccilli, cauliflower, squash and strawberries, Also eating vanilla rice custard, porridge and wholegrain baby cereal.
Sitting for longer before toppling over.
Took 3 steps to Ma Ma while holding my hands!
Had an opthamologist appointment to check on a suspected "lazy" eye - no concerns and doctor advised he has perfect sight.
Started wearing size 0 clothes.
Moved out of his bassinet to a small cot (still in our room).
