Clay's Hearing Aids

Due to Clay's Stickler Syndrome, his school asked us to get some hearing tests done.  After 4 lots of tests it was found that he has mild to moderate hearing loss and requires hearing aids for both ears.  I will admit it shocked us.  The audiologist took molds of his ears and we ordered the hearing aids straight away.

Yesterday we went in to have them fitted. The audiologist calibrated (?) them and then put the them in - perfect fit :)  She showed me how to put them in, clean them and change the batteries.  They sent the wrong colour, but will have his green set at next week's follow up appointment.

Because we were concerned it might be too much for him to process / handle, Clay and I both had the day off.  We went down to show Craig at work, then mum picked us up to go shopping.  We popped into a new op shop for a look, had some lunch and then popped into Kmart to buy aome new pool toys.  We spent the afternoon at home doing some craft activities and watching a movie.  Clay only said once that the cars were too loud and had no issues with them hurting his ears.

Today he went to school and did a show and tell about his new hearing aids :)  The audiologist had given us a hearing aid so he could show the kids (without having to take his out) and the school hearing assistant was there to help answer any questions (we have an awesome school!).  He had a great day and had no issues:)
