Clay is going to a birthday party this weekend, so it was a good excuse to play with some new dies and my fave superhero stamp set, to try a comic book style card. While I had all the stash out, I also made a second version of this card for a friend's 3 year old's birthday.

Thrifty Thursday
Mum, Clay and I went op shopping at two of our fave shops Friday morning. On my list was a jumper or jacket since it's gotten very cold here!
Look what I found at the first shop for only $4!
Top $4
Top $4
Bra $3 - looks like it's never been worn
Lap blanket $1 - was marked as dog blanket. If it washes up nicely will keep for travel rug or else will give to Indy to snuggle in.
Board game for our Cars obsessed little boy $4 - no missing pieces and already having lots of fun playing it!
At the 2nd shop I found this gorgeous necklace for $2. It matches the new cardigan perfectly and made with lovely heavy stones.
Have you found anything lately?

Everyday Moments
Clay and I made choc chip biscuits and Clay finally tried licking the beaters - he loved it! LOL
I celebrated my birthday last week and was spoilt with lots of lovely gifts. Mum picked Clay up early from kindy and brought a delicious fresh cream and caramel cake to work and Cathie brought me this gorgeous bunch of flowers too. I had another cake (with candles this time) that night too.
Craig and I had a date night on the Saturday to celebrate my birthday - I got mum to snap a few pics when we dropped Clay off. I laughed so hard seeing the 2nd photo where Clay is photo bombing us :) We had dinner at Lone Star and went to the movies to see MIB International. It was a fabulous night!
While was at Simply Crafty, Craig and Clay had a picnic lunch and play at the park.
Clay has gone up another level at swimming - super proud of him!

I had a very productive day at Simply Crafty today! I added some embellishments and finished the first layout and also managed to scrap 2 other new layouts :)

Brisbane - Day 2
We were up early and headed to the hospital for Clay's 8am appointment. He saw two different doctors and had a few tests. The doctor confirmed the original diagnosis of Stickler Syndrome (no surprise there), but then gave us some news... We will meed to see a geneticist to follow up on diagnosis. Clay has a cataract forming on him "good" eye and his eyes are worse than first thought, so needs to get a stronger prescription. Clay will need to see a retinal specialist to have more investigation of his retinas and may need a proceedure to reduce the risk of retina detachment. He will also need to see a cardiologist as the syndrome has risks of heart issues. We have to head back for more tests in 4 m9nths time. Craig and I were overwhelmed and a bit upset with all the news, but our little man was a rock star for the 3hrs we were there.
After we finished at the hospital we headed to North Lakes shopping centre to catch up with Kristy, Bethany and Jack. A hug and debrief of the hospital visit, was just what we needed. We had lunch, then hit the shops for a quick look, including a dash through IKEA :)
We can't go to Brisbane without buying Krospy Keene donuts ;)

Brisbane - Day 1
We headed to Brisbane for 2 days on Thursday - so that we could take Clay to an appointment at the Children's hospital. Clay was super excited to find his bed at the hotel was a bunk bed and there was lots of climbing and jumping LOL It was a bit too high for our liking, so we put the mattress on the floor next to our bed.
We met our friends Chris and Anita at the Victoria Park Golf Complex for dinner. This cute possum gave me a bit of a fright when she / he came running up the handrail next to us LOL We enjoyed a delicious meal and had a great time catching up with amazimg city views!

Everyday Moments
Two big kangaroos I spotted behind work a few weeks ago!
Mum, her friend Christine and I went to a free community movie last week. It was an Australian documentary called "Backtrack Boys" - it was about a guy who takes in troubled kids and teaches them to train dogs. It's not somwthing I would usually watch, but we all agreed it was an amazing film and we really enjoyed it.
It was our local show public holiday last Thursday, so
Kylie, Cathie and I finally caught up for coffee - need to do it more often.
Craig and I took Clay over to watch the fireworks display at the show.
We had a craft morning and created pinecone monsters!

Thrifty Thursday
Last Friday Mum, Clay and I headed to Hervey Bay for an appointment - on the way home we stopped in the tiny town of Howard to have lunch at a park / playground. After lunch as we started to head home we spotted a tiny little op shop and decided to pop in for a look. It had quite a bit of stuff and it was all very cheap! Clothes were $2 each, unless marked otherwise. I picked up some clothes for Clay and mum brought a pair of white lace curtains for $3.50. I'm so glad we decided to stop and look :)
