I missed both the midnight crop at Creative Artz and Simply Crafty last month - so I was looking forward to going to both on the weekend :o) Friday night was at Creative Artz. I finished my Black with 2 challenge and I love how it turned out!
I also scrapped a LO for the shop / for Cassie to use as a sample for her sketch class. I gave Cassie a hand to select next months' challenge pack. While surfing the net for class ideas, templates, etc we got distracted and ended up at the Urban Dictionary. Not for the faint-hearted, but definitely worth a look for laughs. Donna, Cassie & I were laughing so hard at all the different slang & definitions! I felt so old reading them! LOL Donna asked me to teach a class next month-how exciting!! I will have to make some samples up this weekend.
We spent Saturday afternoon with Craig's family to celebrate Adam's 21st birthday. it was a nice relaxing day, just sitting around talking and watching the kids play. I haven't seen my nephew Rhiley since Christmas - look how big he's grown!
Sunday was Simply Crafty - I managed to finish another LO and have 3 half-finished cards. I haven't had a chance to take pics yet - hoping to do that tomorrow after work. Helen from Lorna Blue gave a great demo on how to alter/ make your own embellishments. I'm organising a Christmas themed swap for next month's Xmas in July get together - so keep an eye out on the Simply Crafty blog for details.

STG & White with 1 swaps
My other two swaps arrived during the week :o)
This month's colour theme at White with 1 was green. I usually don't scrap much with green, but I'm feeling very inspired by some of the items :o)
I LOVE all the birds in the Scrap The Girls bird swap!! There are some very talented scrappers out there and it was amazing to see all the different things they created!
I have a thing about birds ATM - I realised I brought 3 different bird stamps while I was at the Scrapbooking expo! LOL Yesterday I brought this cute little bird for my scrap room.

Good luck comes in threes...
I've been very lucky this month...it started with me winning a fabulous prize at the Printblocks party while in Brisbane. Then I won first prize for the May challenge over at Puzzle Sketches - how exciting!!! :o) Then on the weekend I found out I was also lucky enough to win some of Tammy's fabulous new chippies from her giveaway :o) Hmmmm... maybe I should buy a lottery ticket?!?! LOL

STB swap & a card..
I feel like I'm playing catch up at the moment-lots of things happening, but no time to blog about it :o)
I recieved my Scrap The Boys swap last week. Just waiting on my Scrap the Girls & White With One swaps to arrive.
Turns out I did get motivated yesterday, but only enough to make 1 card...LOL

Mini Album
We went out to dinner with friends last night for my birthday, It was nice to catch up with everyone. I got some fabulous presents - thanks guys :o)
I downloaded Picasa this morning and had a go at the photo editing & collage programs - they are so easy to use!! I even worked out how to straighten my images in a picture - woo hoo!! Now I just need to work out how change the size of a cropped photo!
Here is the mini album I made in Zoe Pearn's class at the scrapbooking expo last weekend.
I'm hoping to get motivated enough to make a couple of cards this afternoon.

My new toy....
Craig brought me a new laptop for my birthday :o) I got it a couple of days ago and have had fun playing with it. It's a combined last Christmas (since Ididn't end up deciding on a digital frame) / birthday present.
Mum and I were up early and off to a couple of garage sales this morning. I was lucky enough to pick up a new laptop bag for $2 - what a bargain!!
Then I went to a Kaszazz workshop and made a waterfall card - it's a great idea! I just need to add pics/journalling to finish it. The demonstrator gave us all a copy of the instructions, so i am going to have a go at making a smaller version.
I spent the rest of the afternoon finishing my mini-album from the expo. I will share pics tomorrow.

Weekend in Brisbane
I had a fantastic weekend in Brisbane - it was just what I needed!! It was such a busy weekend I didn't take many pics, but Donna snapped away at everything.
Day 1
We started the trip off singing along to the stereo at the top of our voices and cracking jokes. We stopped in at Krispy Kreme on the way - OMG they are sooo delicious!! We got to Jenny's and settled in. I got to check out Jenny's shop and classroom.
We went to Breakfast Creek pub for dinner and to meet up with some of Jenny & Donna's friends - if you haven't been before definitely check it out. The building itself is amazing! It was race day at Albion Race Course (next door) - so it was fun to check out all of the outfits and gorgeous hats. I forgot the crazy restaurant hours Brisbane has - we didn't get our meal till after 9pm!! LOL We didn't get into bed until 1am.
Day 2
Up early and over to the expo for a full day of shopping! Prima seemed to be the popular brand this year - flowers, stamps, transparencies, etc. I brought a variety of things - lots of embellishments (flowers, die cuts, ribbon), some papers (new range from October Afternoon and Fancy Pants), a few tools (glitter tray, Quick-kutz dies, stamps, pens, masks) and other bits & pieces (Glimmermist, H2O).
After the expo we got changed, then walked down to Southbank to the Plough Inn to the Printblocks distributor party. I didn't realise that there is a "Wheel of Brisbane" on Southbank! We were running late for the get together so didn't get a chance to go on there :o( It was fun to mingle with everyone - there were some "big name" scrappers there and I'll admit I was a little star struck LOL Printblocks had a HUGE amount of "lucky door" prizes - they were very generous. I can't get over the amount of screaming (by the winners and everyone else) when numbers were drawn and people collected their prizes! LOL I was lucky enough to win an amazing prize - a new release "Calligraphy" Cricut cartridge and Jukebox!! There was a bar tab, so it was fun to watch people win their prizes, sexually harrass the Waicom guy, take photos of everthing, etc!! LOL I met a couple of wonderful ladies from Kaiser - they were fun to party with!! :o)
Day 3
Dragged ourselves out of bed and back to the expo. Did a little bit more shopping, then went to my class with Zoe Pearn. The class kit (sponsored by Addicted to Craft) was packed full of goodies and I had a great time in the class. I didn't get my mini album finished, but there were full instructions & pictures, so I have been working on it during the week. I should be finished this weekend and will put pics up. After the expo we stopped into Chermside for a late lunch then were on our way home again. We stopped at the north-side Krispy Kreme, but they were all sold out, so did a huge circle to the south-side kiosk, then back around and on the highway home. Another car trip with the music blaring and singing at the top of our voices!!
It was a full-on, crazy weekend - I'm glad I took the Tuesday off to recover!! LOL

Baby shower invitation
Cathie & Kylie came over today so we could finish making the invites for Cathie's baby shower. Kylie had completed most of the invitations, so all we had to do was make the bows, sew on the very cute buttons and finish putting them together. How cute are these?!?!
I'm all packed & ready for Brisbane - only 1 sleep to go!! LOL

Cards...
I don't usually make cards, but I found some gorgeous cards at Cosmo Cricket that I loved. The cards were so cute, I copied one of them. I just used the basic design + used some left over Cosmo Cricket papers. After I made that card I felt inspired to make 2 other cards, just using scraps of c/stock & papers I had.

Scrapbooking Expo
Woo hoo!! I'm heading off to the Scrapbooking & Papercraft Expo in Brisbane this weekend!! I went for the first time last year - just the one day of shopping & to check it out - I had a fantastic time :o) Unfortunately I was so busy drooling over all the new products that I didn't see any of the demos happening through out the day :o( I realised that 2 days at the expo would be best - one day for shopping and the other day for classes & demos.
This year Donna and I heading down for the weekend. There have been phone calls & emails about what to pack (important things like iPods & cameras - LOL), what we're doing and where we're going. It's been ages since I've been on a girls only road trip - woo hoo!! We are staying with Donna's friend Jenny - so I will check out her store while we there. Donna mentioned doing some scrapping while we are there, but I don't know where we are going to find the time!! LOL
I am booked into the "Birds Of Paradise" mini album class with Zoe Pearn on Monday afternoon. I have never made a mini album and I'm looking forward to it. I have had a look at the class "kit" and there are lots of lovely goodies that I haven't used before:o) Donna & Jenny are also doing a couple of classes - so it will interesting to swap ideas & techniques that we have learnt.
