Weekend in Brisbane

I had a fantastic weekend in Brisbane - it was just what I needed!! It was such a busy weekend I didn't take many pics, but Donna snapped away at everything.

Day 1
We started the trip off singing along to the stereo at the top of our voices and cracking jokes. We stopped in at Krispy Kreme on the way - OMG they are sooo delicious!! We got to Jenny's and settled in. I got to check out Jenny's shop and classroom.

We went to Breakfast Creek pub for dinner and to meet up with some of Jenny & Donna's friends - if you haven't been before definitely check it out. The building itself is amazing! It was race day at Albion Race Course (next door) - so it was fun to check out all of the outfits and gorgeous hats. I forgot the crazy restaurant hours Brisbane has - we didn't get our meal till after 9pm!! LOL We didn't get into bed until 1am.

Day 2
Up early and over to the expo for a full day of shopping! Prima seemed to be the popular brand this year - flowers, stamps, transparencies, etc. I brought a variety of things - lots of embellishments (flowers, die cuts, ribbon), some papers (new range from October Afternoon and Fancy Pants), a few tools (glitter tray, Quick-kutz dies, stamps, pens, masks) and other bits & pieces (Glimmermist, H2O).

After the expo we got changed, then walked down to Southbank to the Plough Inn to the Printblocks distributor party. I didn't realise that there is a "Wheel of Brisbane" on Southbank! We were running late for the get together so didn't get a chance to go on there :o( It was fun to mingle with everyone - there were some "big name" scrappers there and I'll admit I was a little star struck LOL Printblocks had a HUGE amount of "lucky door" prizes - they were very generous. I can't get over the amount of screaming (by the winners and everyone else) when numbers were drawn and people collected their prizes! LOL I was lucky enough to win an amazing prize - a new release "Calligraphy" Cricut cartridge and Jukebox!! There was a bar tab, so it was fun to watch people win their prizes, sexually harrass the Waicom guy, take photos of everthing, etc!! LOL I met a couple of wonderful ladies from Kaiser - they were fun to party with!! :o)

Day 3
Dragged ourselves out of bed and back to the expo. Did a little bit more shopping, then went to my class with Zoe Pearn. The class kit (sponsored by Addicted to Craft) was packed full of goodies and I had a great time in the class. I didn't get my mini album finished, but there were full instructions & pictures, so I have been working on it during the week. I should be finished this weekend and will put pics up. After the expo we stopped into Chermside for a late lunch then were on our way home again. We stopped at the north-side Krispy Kreme, but they were all sold out, so did a huge circle to the south-side kiosk, then back around and on the highway home. Another car trip with the music blaring and singing at the top of our voices!!

It was a full-on, crazy weekend - I'm glad I took the Tuesday off to recover!! LOL
