School Card
With school starting back last week - I wanted to send a present to my nieces and nephew. It's been very exciting - Cohan started Kindy and Lacey started Prep. There were lots of jokes about hoping the teachers were mentally prepared! LOL I brought them a cute lunch sack each and sent this card with them.

Swoon
This picture makes my heart melt :)
We babysat Brandee yesterday afternoon :) Poor bub is teething and was pretty miserable, so not much playing happening, just lots of cuddles and a nap on Uncle's lap.
I spent a few hours weeding the front gardens this afternoon - they were starting to look like more weeds than plants thanks to all the rain LOL I can't complain too much - it has given all our veges a boost. We are getting a bumper crop of Roma tomatoes at them moment. The Lebanese cucumbers will be ready to be picked in few weeks too!

Layouts
I am making a conscious effort to finish my LO before starting on a new one - I really don't want to have a huge pile of unfinished LO like I did last year. So with that goal in mind, I sat down today and finished the 2 LO I started at Simply Crafty last weekend :)
This LO was scrap-lifted from this LO - I love Stephanie's blog and her scrapping style!
This LO is uses some of my rub-ons and chipboard stash that I have been hoarding for too long! I made a decision to stop hoarding my stash and start using it more this year :)

Hot air balloon card
I used the tag I made for the Simply Crafty sky embellishment swap to make this Clean & SImple card. (Not sure why the sky looks green in the picture, but it is definitely blue LOL)
We spent a lazy Australia Day at home - just watching DVDs. We did have plans to go camping and fishing, but they were cancelled thanks to the constant rain we have had all week :(

Pink & teal owl beanie
Congrats to Cathie & Andrew on the safe arrival of their sweet little girl Rylie yesterday!! Craig and I popped over this afternoon to see the baby and have lots of cuddles - she's so tiny and beautiful :)
I can finally share the beanie I made her. I knew I wanted to make it pink and teal, but it needed an extra colour so I googled some picture ideas. I decided to add yellow as a third colour and saw the idea of adding a sweet flower on there :)
I spent a lovely day catching up with friends and scrapping at Simply Crafty today. I managed to get 2 cards completed and started working on 2 layouts - I probably would have got more done if I wasn't my usual chatterbox self LOL

Reading
I've managed to get 2 books finished lately! What a great start to the year and good way to put a dent in the HUGE pile of books I have waiting to be read LOL
I finished the last book in the Vampire Academy series - I loved this series!
The 2nd book I read was written by the same author of the Vampire Series. It's book 3 in a series (picked it up from a discount store on sale) - was easy enough to follow the story, but I now really want to read the rest of the books in the series LOL

Mug sleeve / wrap
I made this mug sleeve for Kylie's birthday. There are a few changes to the pattern - I finished it with a scalloped edge which made it wider. It looks too big for a standard mug, but I know Kylie uses larger mugs to have her caffeine fix :)
I also stitched some drawer liner / grip onto the back of the sleeve so that it wouldn't slip off the mug.

Owl beanie
With 3 friends having babies this year (2 due this month!) - I wanted to make some cute owl beanies. I bookmarked this free pattern here a few months ago. The first baby due was a boy - so I made this blue / brown hat. This was very quick and easy to make and I LOVE how it turned out - soooo cute!!
Congrats to Amanda & Justin on the safe arrival of Ryan on the 3rd January! We (Kylie, Cathie & Sue) went up to the hospital this morning to see the Amanda and the new baby and have lots of cuddles :) Afterwards we went out to lunch for Kylie's birthday. It was great to spend a few hours just sitting and chatting by the river, then some retail therapy :)

Scrappy goals for 2012
After looking at the scrappy goals I set for myself last year - I think I underestimated myself LOL I'm pleased and surprised to see that I created double the amount I had set myself :)
Layouts 48/24
Cards 103/40
OTP 7/3
I'm going from part time to full time hours this year - so that means less time for scrapping. I won't set my goals too high! I'm making a change to my goals this year - I'm adding handmade projects. Looking back at my projects last year I realisedd that there were quite a few handmade items, so adding that to my goals will hopefully motivate me to continue.

Cards 150

Has anyone else set Scrappy Goals for this year?

Brandee
Skye and Brandee are in town for a couple of days - so we got to catch up with them yesterday. It was lovely to see how much Brandee has grown and changed (I think she looks like a Cabbage Patch Kid). We gave Brandee her Christmas present and typical baby - she played with the shiny bow and wrapping paper and ignored the gift LOL She did love her gift though - lots of cuddles and chewing on it :) I took lots of pics, but Brandee was too wiggly so I ended up with more blurry pics than clear pics LOL
On a random topic - the plants in my vege garden are growing nicely. I picked my first Roma tomato yesterday - very exciting :)

Happy New Year
Wow I can't believe it's 2012 already - last year just seemed to zoom by!! I will share my 2012 scrappy goals soon :)
We didn't see the new year in (again! LOL) - we went out for dinner and a movie, then crashed out by 10.30pm! We saw "Jack & Jill" - it was a lot funnier than I thought it would be and I really enjoyed it.
Today was a lazy day - we watched a DVD, then headed to the beach for fish & chips. Then we took down the Christmas tree and packed away the decorations. I hope everyone else had a fun-filled NYE and great start to the new year :)
