Australia Day weekend

We had a very sociable long weekend :)  Saturday mum, Kate and the kids come over for a swim - lots of fun splashing in the pool before having some lunch.  Australia Day we had Craig's work-mates over for a swim and pizza.  It  was a lovely, relaxed evening catching up with everyone.  I didn't take any pictures of the party (for privacy reasons), but couldn't resist taking one of the cake Jazzi brought!!  wowsers - chocolate cake with cream and caramel filling and topped with ganache!!

                                           

Monday was a quiet day, pottering around the house and relaxing.  Tuesday I babysat Cohan and Jaxson for a bit - lots of games and cuddles.  It was Jaxson's first time being babysat at Aunty's and there was no tears - woo hoo!

I printed some new photos and was inspired to scrap yesterday :)  How cute is that chocolate covered face?!?

My scraproom is still in a chaotic state - half unpacked and stuff everywhere, but I  was itching to scrap on the weekend, so gathered some bits & pieces and scrapped some pics of PNG.

Katie & Mark's Wedding

On Saturday, Craig and I had the pleasure of attending Katie & Mark's wedding.  It was a lovely ceremony in a beautiful bush setting, then a wonderful meal under the twinkling stars and fairy lights.   It was just family and close friends, so it was lovely to spend the night chatting with everyone.

  

Thrifty Thursday

I was so excited to head off on my first thrifting adventure for 2014!  I have a few things on my list, but I always enjoy finding random goodies :)  I popped into 3 shops - 2 were great, but no luck on the 3rd one.

An item on my list - baskets!  I found this one for $1.  The blue water bottle was a perfect timed find - I had only just broken my current bottle 2 days earlier.  The retro mug was an odd find -I'm guessing the top owl was part of a trinket box - but loving the mug for $1 :).

A series of 3 books - I am not sure if there are any more in the series.

Milk glass S&P shakers- $1

A blue / green plastic bowl for 5c.  Love Op Shop Mama's collection and thought these would be more suitable to use around the pool / BBQ area.   Ceramic Christmas tray $1 and Aussie themed Christmas biscuit tin $2.

Pyrex dish - $2

2x large wire baskets for $1 each - I brought these to help organise our wardrobesl

Our house - tour

With the craziness of packing / moving, Christmas and then NYE I realised I hadn't shared photos of your new house :)  I haven't gotten around to taking pics since we moved furniture it - once we are all unpacked I will share again :)

Welcome!  As you walk through the front door you come to the entry 

Then around the corner is the lounge room and you can see the dining room 

From the lounge room there are 3 bedrooms - the master bedroom and 2 guest rooms  Every master bedroom needs a chandelier right?!?! LOL

Back into the lounge and through the doorway and you come into the kitchen on the right and the dining room on the left.

At the end of the dining room is the bathroom with a relaxing spa bath and very cool wavy mirrors

Back through the dining room, down 3 stairs through the laundry and out the back door is our pool and converted garage.  

I'm very spoilt - the back area is my new scraproom and the front area is a games room / man cave!!

New Year's Day

We spent a very relaxing new year's afternoon with Cathie, Andrew, Kylie, Mick and the kidlets.  The kids enjoyed a swim in the pool, while we caught up with everyone over a few bottles of champagne and yummy pizzas.

We are loving our new house and plan on having lots more relaxing social catch up's with friends :)
