Cruise Day 1 & 2 - At Sea

Day 1

We were up at 4.30am and on our way to Brisbane! Thanks to a temperamental GPS we went over the Gateway Bridge twice and drove around looking for the parking building - LOL We got to the wharf early (along with hundreds of other passengers), but managed to get through the embarking process really quickly - we were on the ship by 11.30am! We had a quick look around our cabin, then off to explore the ship and have some lunch (the buffet selection was incredible - salad, fruit, cold meats, hot dishes and roasts) and the first of many cocktails / beers :)

Funny sight - 2 ladies walking around deck carrying their life jackets (guess they saw "Titanic" too many times LOL)! We found some comfy seats in The Dome (a bar at the front of the ship) and watched as we sailed out of Brisbane. After that we had an emergency drill, then back to our cabins to get dressed for dinner. We ate at in the formal dining room every night - the food was unbelievable and the service was fantastic!

We finished the night by going up on deck and mingling at the "Sail Away" party. I will admit that I was nauseous most of the cruise due to the rough seas (and not having my 'sea legs' LOL) - but luckily I had packed travel medication which made it bearable. Mum and Craig had no problems - lucky them!

Day 2

Up early for breakfast at the buffet (fresh fruit, pastries, toast, bacon, variety of eggs - scrambled, boiled, etc) then more exploring the ship and a bit of relaxing on the deck.

We went to bingo - has to be the craziest game of bingo I've ever played! LOL Then lunch and a nanna nap. Mum and I went to a craft class - making a crepe paper rose. Then time to get dressed up for dinner - it was the first formal night so we wore cocktail dresses and suits.

We had some professional photos taken after dinner. Finished the night with mum and I going to see "Do you wanna dance" performance in the International lounge, whiile Craig watched footy in the Sports Lounge. We weren't permitted to take photos of the shows - but I promise the costumes, dancing and singing was fabulous!

BTW - Our beaded lanyards were very popular - lots of crew and passengers commented on them and asked where we brought them :)
