Holiday - Cruise Day 5 Port Vila

Day 5 - We were so excited for our first port!  Clay was a little confused why we were getting off the boat if our cruise wasn't finished LOL

We have been to Vila a number of times and wanted to something new, so we took Kristy's suggestion and booked a tour with Yumi Tours to go to the Blue Lagoon and the Turtle Sanctuary.

First stop was the duty free store to buy our alcohol ;)  Then off to the Blue Lagoon.  Along the way our guide /driver Josef talked about the island, language, crops, history, etc - he was very knowledgeable and interesting.

At The Blue Lagoon we got changed and headed off for a swim - the water was freezing!  We swam for about an hour before hopping out and having morning tea.

From there we headed to the Turtle Sanctuary Naiwe Beach.  The shark signs at the front gate were a bit scary! LOL  We had our own personal guide who took us to see the baby turtles in the ponds and Clay had a hold of a 4 year old turtle.

Then the most exciting part...hopping in the water to hand feed (they were eating freshly sliced paw paw) and swim with 12 turtles!

After we finished with the turtles and starfish, we walked around the beach, had a BBQ lunch and looked at the animals (fruit bat, iguana, coconut crab and some birds).

We were dropped off at the dock and wandered back through the markets and brought some souvieneers.

Dress theMe was Blanco / White Night- so I got to wear my white lace dress :)

The show was Hypnotist Ron Hudson - we have seen him before on another cruise - it was hilarious!!
