Day 7 - Napier

We had no definite plans for Napier - just to have a look around and do some shopping. We caught a shuttle bus into town and found a heap of tours being offered at the visitors centre, so we decided to go on a 3 hour "Best of the Bay" tour.

It started off with an Art Deco tour of Napier.

Then past the Millennium Arch.

Then we drove along the a coastal route through Clive, the Tuki Tuki valley and Havelock North village.

We stopped at a strawberry patch and had a delicious strawberry icecream. Then onto Hastings City and past the 1890's sale yards. We drove down the historic Oak Avenue.

Past lots of vineyards and orchards, then to the Silky Oak Chocolate Factory for a taste test :) We stopped to take pictures of this amazing carved tree stump!

We then drove through the Puketapu countryside, then to The Mission Winery.

Craig on the beach at Napier - it's made up of black volcanic rock - definately no sandcastles being made there LOL

We also managed to do a bit of souvenier shopping :) After that we caught the shuttle bus back to the ship. We had dinner than went to see a Pacific Cirque performance in the Atrium - amazing!!!
